Hi guys I got a neck strain a few days ago and I was wondering if it's still ok to do upper body and lower body training any part of my body will put any type of stress on my neck as well? thank you.
Any workout will definitely stress your neck, so I would avoid training for a couple of days. You won't lose much if you take that rest, but you will lose much more if you keep training now with this minor issue and make it bigger. Therefore, let it get recovered, because no matter what you will lift, your neck will still get stressed.
I think you pulled a muscle in your trapezius. I would book a massage with a good massage therapist and then have a hot epsom salt bath. After the combination of those two, you should be as good as new.
I have an issue like this every so often myself. It is usually from sleeping funny or rolling over in bed or something dumb like that. It usually will be sore for a couple days but I am fine to train around it.
