Natural PB!?

esteveze

New member
I went to the supermarket last night and took a look at the natural PB from Smucker?!. well I compare the nutritional fact with other PB (skkipy) and they are the same....
I dont know maybe I was under the influence of my drowsy(thera Flu), girls help me out here...what are the diferences if any???

OHHHH also..what is the diference between White rice and Brown rice??? which is better and why??
Sorry for all this questions..but I am just plain ignorant..
Hope u can answer my questions.
Ciao..

If you get REAL natural Pb it has only a small amount of sugar in it..just peanuts and salt etc..No junk stuff added...It should have around. Kroger brand nat pb has 16 grams of fat...2 grams sat, 4 grams poly, 8 grams mono, 130 mgs sodium, 6 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugar, and 8 grams of protein....Read the first two items in regualr peanutbutter is.......peanuts and sugar...natural is peanuts and salt:)

White rice is more processed. It has a higher glycemic index which means it raises your blood sugar higher. It digests very quickly. Brown rice has a lower glycemic index and digests more slowly, making you feel full longer.

Now if I eat white rice, I feel like it's missing something. I like the nutty flavor and heartiness of brown rice.

Ok...I understand now the diferences about the brown Vs white rice. But I am trying to keep a clean diet to loose BF and get lean.
Woul rice in general be bad for me?? or if I am able to eat rice which one should I eat and what quantity??

Smuckers Nat. PB

I love this stuff. I cant stop eating it. Damn its so damn good.

Natural peanut butter such as Smuckers should contain two ingredients only......peanuts and salt. I find that a spoonful helps to curb my sugar/carb cravings.

As far as the rice issue goes. If you have not cut out carbs completely, I would limit it to brown rice (not white ever!!) and I would not eat it past your noon meal. I would also eat it on the days you were planning a good heavy workout (legs, back etc) for extra energy!!

Hope this helps slightly.

PS. Golfer18, where did you get a picture of my behind!!!!!

I buy a brand that doesn't have salt either :) Also use almond butter for a tiny bit of variety.

Jiffy, Skip, etc all have all been hydrogenated to make a more stable, homogeneous texture. Hydrogenated oils are saturated fats and have trans fatty acids (trans fats, saturated fats = bad) Natural PBs will separate (oil on the top, ground peanut mush on the bottom) because they have not been processed this way but are much healthier. The nutrition labels will often look the same however. Sometimes, it's what you can't see that hurts you...

OTC, where do you get this peanut butter with out salt? May have to make a trip to the health food store!!

I don't know if you can find any on the supermarket shelves, I get my stuff from a little health food store that stocks local organic goods...A farm about 25 mi down the road produces all sorts of butters that are minimally processed. Must be some store around where you can get something similar...
