National Qualifier's (NPC)

To some of you bros who compete and frequently go to the shows, I would like to know what weight classes you guys see winning the overalls in your respective states. I'm thinking about doing a couple of shows next spring/summer. I'm thinking @6'2" I need to come in around 250+ in shape. In Indiana and Michigan, I usually see the light-heavies take it beacuse of conditioning. Anyone have any comments on their experiences.

Your right about lighter weight classes taking overalls in smaller shows. That is because it is very difficult to come in over 200 pounds ripped with proportion and only a few guy can do it.Those guys are usually competing at national level contests. At the state and local level most superheavys are out of shape. You will see lightheavies win alot and even middleweights at the state level take overalls.

I have witnessed Light Heavies and Middles take most of the shows here.

I agree, most supper heavies come in out of shape. I think some guys would rather be known to compete as a super heavy than an inshape heavy, funny but I think its true.

That's how it is around my area. Sometimes a 'freak' like Marvin Ward shows up and takes the overall as a middle or light but it's pretty rare.

If you are talking national qualifiers, the contestants usually all come in in great shape. Just this weekend in Sacramento the super heavy won the overall, but the light heavy was all over his ass. The best legs on an amature I have ever seen.

middle weights have dominated most of the shows i have done. they are usually shorter and look heavier at there lower bodyweights.

mostly middles and light heavies in my state and a couple of the surrounding ones...heavies just never seem to come in in good enough condition
