National Personal Training Institute

This looks like a pretty good program, but make sure they get into specifics regarding running a personal training business. Anatomy and physiology is great, but the main ingredient is sales and marketing.

I like their business model of offering the course in different cities. The price is pretty aggressive; I hope they over-deliver.

Actually, rather than spending $5900 on this school, i think I am just going to self study and take the ACE test. I don't think I can bring myself to spend that much money when I can get certified for much much cheaper.

i am currently going to this school right now and it is by far worth way more than the $5900.00, the amount of stuff i have learned in the 6 weeks i have been there is crazy, i cant speak on the behalf of all the NPTI's but i went down for orientation and talked to the teacher, after talking with her for a while i got good vibes from her and i could tell she had a lot to give so that made up my mind. maybe before you decide you should do the same thing.

What I've found is this. The NPTI program has done a lot for teaching prospective Personal Trainers the A&P of their career focus, however, it has left them with many questions as to the business model and day-to-day activities that will ultimately enable each Personal Trainer to succeed.

Personal Trainers that I have worked with one-on-one have said that they have learned more in one week of focused training than they have in the entire course.

The course is useful, but your investment dollars may be spent more wisely elsewhere.

NPTI does job placement. They also cover how to sell yourself and "blocks" of training sessions and everything you could possibly need to know but maybe i just got lucky because my teacher is a nurse and also was a professional bodybuilder for almost 10 years and won Nationals, so like i said i cant speak on behalf of all NPTI's but mine is defiantly worth the money

NPTI is an expensive course demanding 500 class hours to 'graduate'.

The course awards a diploma, not a nationally recognized certification.

The course I took cost $5,900 and we came out with nothing in the end. Employers don't recognize NPTI as a credible background and NPTI did not provide employment assistance as promised. I later found out that not all NPTI sites offer all of the services mentioned.

You would be better off spending the $600 for a weekend seminar and test for a nationally recognized certification. The certifications Kenny mentions in the previous post are all great and highly recommended

Hi - can you tell me what city or state you took the NPTI course in?
I'm getting ready to sign up today, but may not if it's the one I was going to go to!

Thanks!
