My new postworkout shake!!!

My old PW shake was 140 CCs plain WPC, 1 50 cc scoop Dextrose, and I heaping TBs of Malted Milk powder. Pretty good.

But I just started adding some powdered milk to the mix. I figured that will add some more slower sugars and protein to the mix to allow for a longer absorption curve and it tastes good too!
 
erm hate to break this to you but you want whey protein pw not milk as casein is slow absorbing as you've rightly stated, you want something to hit your muscles fast otherwise there's no point to the dextrose. Ideally you want Hyrdorlised whey protein but thats expensive so a blend of HWP and a WPI is good, if not just a WPI
if you cant get a WPI then a WPC

(HWP = Hydrolised whey protein
WPI - Whey Protein Isolate
PIC = Whey Protein Concentrate)
 
bfa is right on, casein slows digestion and would not be ideal pwo. the whole point of the dextrose is a rapid insulin spike, using slow digesting proteins will alter that efect.
 
I am having a hard time buying that adding the equivalent of about a cup of milk to all the WPC and Dextrose I am consuming is going to significantly slow absorption.

WPI is a fucking scam, twice the price and 12.5% more protein, when I am Bill Gates I might think about it.

BFA I get the impression you think I took away the WPC and substituted Milk powder. The WPC is still there.

The window of opportunity is a short by sweet one; don't fuck with it. And what do you mean "having a hard time BUYING it"? Read up on post-workout nutrition and the human endocrine system (insulin response, particularly).
