After reading through an old Bodybuilding book of mine "The Keys to Progress" I found a recipe called the "Get Big Drink". From this, various experimentation and more recently nutritional analysis I've come up with my most definate favourite way to pack on weight (good muscle).
1L Non-fat milk
1 cup non-fat milk powder
2 scoops (~60g) protein powder (I like chocolate here)
BLEND
1 Egg
60-75g natural peanut butter
60-75g malt extract
1 Tablespoon of flax seed oil
2 Tablespoons heaped of cocoa
2 Tablespoons heaped of dextrose/glucose (same thing whatever)
BLEND
Eating this every day just in addition to what I normally eat has been fannnntassstic. Gaining a solid kilo or so a week of mostly muscle without any additional supplementation. It appeals to me because it's easy!
Quick nutritional breakdown (approximate)
Energy: ~7000kJ
Protein: ~150g
Sugars: ~154g
Starch: ~20g
Saturated fats: ~10g (probably less)
Polyunsaturated fats: ~15g
Monounsaturated fats: ~30g
Fibre: ~8g
Niacin equivalents: ~40mg
Vitamin C: ~13mg
Folate: ~175ug
Salt: ~1000mg
Potassium: ~4500mg
Magnesium: ~500mg
Calcium: ~2500mg
Phosphorus: ~2500mg
Iron: ~9mg
Zinc: ~12.70mg
I've been away from the forums for a while but hopefully with renewed enthusiasm I can rejoin the ranks!
