as of last night I have to find some new school, my mma teacher (bjj and mt)has got trouble a home and his family comes first ,but now I cant find any bjj schools any were in my area ,plenty of mt so I am think of taking up judo in place of my bjj how would you say judo stands up against bjj/should I go to the local judo class of keep serching for a good bjj class?

So judo wont cut it eh!? the problem is the closest class is nearly 30 miles away and I cant drive at the minute so its a long way to bike!!

going to go to the judo class ,as its on my doorstep and mt class is only 5 mile down the road and starts 30mins after judo so that a nice little work out there(got to bike there and back) ,so mt ,judo and the little bit of bjj I know is still a good base for mma as I do want to compeat at some point.

Take Judo and MT for a while.

When you get the opportunity to train BJJ again you will be a more rounded fighter.

Judo will help you a lot untill you can go back to BJJ.

teaching MA is a thank-less job, the students have no idea what a dedicated teacher puts in to his teaching and training (and takes away from his family)

Just find a school that trains hard . Judo has every move in it that BJJ does , pretty much , so go to a place with Training Partnbers that you match up well with and you shoudl be just fine .

Besides , tell Karo that Judo dosent work in MMA .

not really. bjj has waay more ground moves than judo (x , spider, de la riva, rubber guards, transitions and no gi subs , anyone?) . but judo does work and works very well in MMA. if thats your only option, don't hesitate to take it- im gonna take it soon , myself to compliment bjj.

Ive been to one judo class per week (90mins) yes its good but as you say not as many subs and its all gi wearing work, itll keep me good at basic rolling and have learnerd so pretty trick throws(dont ask the names.lol)keep me fit also as its non stop as soon as you get there till when you leave so far so good but I fell in love with bjj after my first lesson not so with judo but will stay with it till something better turns up
got really good mt class though, very impressed

so its not all bad

bro stick with it, and devote like atleast a day of doing judo w/o a gi. if you can really transfer those judo throws over to a no gi setting and at the same time, advance in muay thai- you'll be a very potent fighter and im sure you will do great in amature shows after 1.5-2 yrs or so of dedication. then as you get better, pick up some subs :).
