My girlfriend needs help!

hard life

New member
Hey ladies, hope you don't mind a man posting here. My girlfriend asked me to find information that will help here lose weight. She is 5ft and maybe 140 pounds (she won't tell me!).

When I met her 7 years ago she was a nice 110, but slowly gained weight. Currently she is working out 5 days a week and she does a couple 2 hour aerobic classes at least twice a week.

She has asked me to be her trainer, I am a fitness nut but do not know too much about women's fitness and diet. What I really need is some info on what kind of program I should put her on.

She is tired of being the way she is(and I'm tired of hearing it) so I want to get a program going where she can see results and feel better about herself. I know she has the motivation, but not seeing results is not helping.

Also since we are a living together, do any of you have experience combining workouts and diet so that we can do it together. It's one thing for me to tell her what to do, but I also have to sacrafice with her.

Thanks a lot!

She can train and diet the same way a man does.

Diet - high protein, moderate carb, moderate fat. Keep foods clean, non-processed, and about 10-11xBW for calorie count (for cutting fat). Fat should come from healthy sources - avacados, flax oil, olive oil, almonds

Check out a couple of the stickies at the top of this board for some information. It helps.

Training can be heavy and hard lifting. Focus on big, compound lifts. Don't overdo cardio. HIIT 3x a week is a good idea. Or 3-4 days of 45 min MAX of intense cardio.|

K, so i dont know much about any of this..very new to the working out/ eating right world, however i have a friend who is trying to lose weight, and wanted me to ask about flax seet pills and omega 3..she has started taking these in hopes they would help her lose weight??!!! She does walking like 5 miles and aerobics kind of stuff...no lifting. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help everyone, I'll try to get her on here. I wasn't sure if she could diet and train the same, thanks for setting me straight! You know men..we know nothing about women

If she needs assistance in tracking her calories.... www.fitday.com is free & can be helpful in keeping track.....I found myself eating a LOT more calories than I thought I was.....that may help her....

The flax seed meal/oil won't help you LOSE weight, but as your body cannot produce EFA's you need it as a supplement.....
