My GF wants to lose some fat....

...particularly in her butt/thigh area. What are some good toning and weight loss routines for a female?

She's pretty small to begin with but wants to tone up/lose a little fat. She's about 5'3 115lbs right now. Wants to be a nice, toned, in shape 105 or so.

She needs to realize it's not about weight. It's about % body fat and gaining lean muscle. I can tell you the best things to happen to my thighs/butt are squats and SLDLs.
 
she is already rather muscular in those areas, she just wants to drop a few pounds, and do some lifting to tone up what she already has. I was just wondering what a good routine would be for the weight loss factor of things. I can give the weight training portion OK, I believe.

OK since Spatts is no longer here I'll be the one to say it. There is no such thing as toning up.

A "toning" routine is a muscle building routine. If she has been sedentary for a while and/or never lifted before she will probably gain some muscular size initially while simultaneously losing fat. However, since she is trying to lose fat I'm sure her calories will be low enough to prohibit her from gaining more than a few pounds of muscle. Gaining 5 or 6 pounds of muscle will give her the look she wants which seems to be looking harder and leaner.

Unless she is a genetic freak she does not have to worry about gaining substantial amounts of muscle. But what will happen is she will end up looking a lot harder and leaner.
 
Diet. Seems like the goal here is fat loss. How is her diet? Make sure it is clean. Heavy on lean proteins, complex carbs, limiting starchy simple carbs. Fats should come from healthy sources - fish, almonds, flax/olive oils. Keep the water intake high.

Anya is right though. Lifting is not going to make her butt grow at warp speed. Just adding things like luges and basic squats are going to make a world of difference. Who cares what she weighs if her butt is mushy and flabby from not building muscle?
 
Butt isn't mushy/flabby by any means. In fact her legs/butt are extremely muscular compared the rest of her, she complains of her "bubble butt" all the time. But, she complains of carrying extra fat around the hips...*women*, lol. Anyway, I'll take the advice given so far, and start working somet things out for her. Any new advice will be much appreciated also. Thank you.
