We all know that.....but what separates 1st from 4th is usually very little. Juice does more than "very little" when it comes to brute strenght.

Genetics is the number 1 requisite of course assuming that all train reasonably.
True - I would say more often than not juice keeps some people in the game longer than they otherwise would be, in contrast to being the reason some don't make it... (as people tend to believe)

Kareem Abdul Jabar could not free bench 400 pounds if his life depended on it.
It woudl be hilarious to watch him try tho! lol

So do you have a place to practice with the implements if you can get them?

Having atlas stones, viking press etc to practice with everyday would be a big help I am sure...

Some of the guys at the contest are from near me in Denver. They invited me to come train with them with their implements. Also they are going to host a contest in November that I am going to plan on doing.

Cheers,

I would pay good money to see Kareem unrack 400lbs and try to bench it. Squatting it would be just as hilarious. Try to picture him doing lunges and going down on that first rep. He probably has to clear like 15 feet in front of him.

Good job, Scottsmofo.

I am betting there will be a big jump in your performance in the next meet....

:)

Good job Scotsman!!!!!!

Can't wait for my debut next month!!!!!!

Great pics, m8! REALLY glad you enjoyed it, sounds like a great time.

You started the climb, that's a mountain ahead of most of humanity.

It was an awesome experience. Now I just need to keep momentum for the climb.
