lol at a little bit of success....

graduated in three years, successfull non-profit teehee, knowledgeable of exotic regligions and cultures that silly americans jusst cannot grasp (my interpretation)...look at me?
dicuss?

And again....not saying workplaces should be forced to accept the differences. Just day to day encounters. My only argument against AF here has been the fact that they changed their mind four months into the game.

I don't think so, personally. I think she's the bees knees. Nothing wrong with getting attention for having substance and being interesting and able to carry on conversation IMO.

Success is measured differently by individuals. Not making money on a venture is not how I direct my life, nor do I believe in bullshit religions and help perpetuate them. Well, it was nice having our one on one Afeedz as I got to know you better... a little bit atleast.

lol well of dive spots....egypt was the top. Obviously I won't go there for a long time now....not till it's really settled down.

I guess my standpoint of the flipside argument is that I don't see why culturally we should find headscarves offensive. They are different, but nothing in the core of how we are raised should see them and be like, "How rude." lol. We're a melting pot, we should be more accepting of differences.

lol at the headscarf around the dive mask....naw, that would be reserved for my mainland activities. On the dive boat they would have to deal with my bikini'd out self.

and their should be nothing offensive about a woman showing her hair, but their is.
i'd be more accepting of muslim traditions if the same respect was displayed to our western trads...in my small blue collar mind it appears that we have to accept their trads while they can ignore ours.

Nef...

You can have your hair, or diving. Which would you chose?

Jesus christ. That's a really fucking hard question to answer. I'd be lost without being able to dive, I'd feel ugly without my hair. FORCED to choose, I'd dive....because I could dive when I felt miserable about being bald and it would take me away from it for a little lol.

I don't know. I'm not sure why I empathize more with the difficulty getting past what seems to be gross lack of modesty than I do the difficulty accepting overt modesty, but I do.

I understand where you are coming from. That's sort of what I was getting at with the tired old argument about the US being a melting pot. There's far more diversity here, culturally, so I expect more of americans as far as tolerance than I do places that have far less exposure to other ideas and other ways of doing stuff. Not saying it's how it should be....just the way things are, and I know that stuff doesn't change overnight if at all.

i was a big fan of the melting pot philosphy, made our country great.
but it is getting old when it appears we are the only melting pot in the world and must accept everything or else we are racist white people, while apparently the remainder of the world is allowed to keep their ethnic and culture traditions.

I'm with you there but...

We don't really have a very defined culture, IMO. Other than fast food, capitalism, and an expectation of instant gratification lol. Not totally knocking the US, plenty that makes our country great. But no universal cultural distinction because of the vast diversity of groups that have immigrated over the years. Even a lot of regional culture is borrowed...irish in boston, creole in LA...One can go from one part of the country to another and get culture shock. I remember one time we hosted the Olympics (maybe atl?), I honestly had no idea what we would do during the opening ceremonies to showcase our country. They went the native american route lololol.
