A 2 day prep before starting the CKD:

Day 1-carb depletion day
no carbs after noon
full body workout
no food after 8pm

Day 2-carb loading day
Carb Loading (maybe only during the 1st half of the day?)

Day 3-CKD Day One
Start CKD!

In retrospect of my first week of the CKD it seems that this approach would be quite logical and very beneficial (especially to my grey matter).

What do you think? I haven't seen this recommendation (not saying it hasn't been mentioned, I just haven't come across it).

Need an opinion

I cut carbs out for the past 3 days and today I entered ketosis (ketostix showed small (15mg/dl)). Tomorrow my goal is 1425cal, 135g(fat) 53g(protein), &0g(carbs).
I prepaired food for tomorrow and it looks something like this (give opinions and suggestions please)
Meal 1. 1 hard boiled egg
2 slices of turkey bacon
1 tbsp of olive oil
Total: 24.3g(fat), 10.3g(pro), 0.5g(carbs)
Meal 2. 1/2 can of tuna
1 tbsp of flexseed oil
2 tbsp of Ranch dressing
Total: 24.6g(fat), 16g(pro), 1g(carbs)
Meal 3. 2 chicken franks
1 tbsp ICBINB
Total: 32g(fat), 14g(pro), 0g(carbs)
Meal 4. 1 tbsp of flexseed oil
1 tbsp of ICBINB
Total: 23g(fat), 0g(pro), 0g(carbs)
Meal 5. 1/2 can of tuna
1 tbsp of flexseed oil
1 tbsp of olive oil
Total: 27.6g(fat), 16g(pro), 0g(carbs)
What do you guys think???

If I understand correctly, you are trying to do a 1/1 ketosis/carb-up...if so, then you should rethink this approach for proper ketonic adaptation take around 3 days, hence why the lowest keto/carb ratio I advocate is 3/1. Try doing 3 day carb-deplete and 1 day carb-up, and then cycle these numbers.
3/1
4/1
5/1
7/2
10/2
2/1
3/1
5/2
(days in--Ketosis/Carb-up)

Well...

my thinking is more to ensure proper preparation before beginning the CKD.

My intetion is not to reach Ketosis on that initial carb depletion day, but to allow for a better carb loading day. The carb loading day would help the individual get thru there first week a bit more easily.

My reasoning is that you Carb Loadbefore you start keto to ensure muscle glycogen levels are there for your workouts.

Is this line of preparation detrimental to the CKD?

Thanks Mr X!

PS, I am just happy it's MY carb day, although the carbs you reccommend are not that fun. Glucose polymers, hell I want PIZZA!

Rugger, that sounds good. Seems like a good way to prepare.

Igor... I am very impressed. Rarely do i see people's diets,, whether on mass building, ckd, zone, etc. etc. that i like.... Your meal planning , and nutrient ratios are all on tha money. Good job bro. keep it up.

peace
