month layoff?

they tell me not to lift anything over a milk jug. so you think i could take a 10lb db and just curl the shit out of it. and tri ext wit it. wouldnt be more than a full milk jug.;)

I just wanted to tell you how selfless that is, something like that really puts what is important and what is not into perspective, and I commend you for that, I don't know what I would do in a situation like yours, and I pray that I will never be faced with that....but I am glad there are people like you in the world......as for training, yeah, resume with the 5x5, and don't sweat the weight, do what you're comfortable doing and things will shoot up.

thanks alot man, the replies from all you on these boards are a real inspiration. wish i could take this damn computer to the hospital with me:bawling:

First, that's an incredibly selfless thing that you're doing.

As for the workouts, just make sure that you let your doctor know what you are doing now, so that he can better advise you. It will probably be longer than a month before you can go back at the intensity that you're used to.

Good luck.

i think i'll do that and yea i think i've come to accept the fact that it will take me a while to get back to the intensity im' at now, the shitty thing is that i've just now made it back to 265# bench(nowhere near what i was at before) and half way decent lifts in my other workouts. guess that's what makes it so fun, seein all the progress. thanks for the kind words.

You fit MY definition of a STRONG person.

As Henry Rollin's wrote in his great "Iron" piece:

"Strength reveals itself through character. Muscle mass does not always equal strength. Strength is kindness and sensitivity. Strength is understanding that your power is both physical and emotional. That it comes from the body and the mind. And the heart."

Best wishes to you and your stepdad's sister. The world would be a better place with more people like yourself.

To the rest of the board:

Become an organ donor and save a life.
