mixing carbs and fat?

Depends more on the person I think. I have no problems with it but others cringe at the thought.

The lower gi and slow digesting carbs and fats to slow the process even more means less of an insulin spike and less chance that the MAJORITY of nutrients will be stored as fat as with a high GI meal.

However, too many nutrients left over in the blood will be stored as fat in adipose tissue, no matter what kind of spike accompanies the food.

thanks swole....

will R-ala minimize this? and how do i avoid having too many nutrients left in my blood?

Is it ok to mix to oats in an MRP with flax oil or some type of other fat?
it's fine, especially w/ flax
or will this just cause excess fat storage? depends on your other caloric intake; if you're eating 10,000 calories a day (way beyond BMR) you'll have a problem w/ any foods you eat, whether EFAs or not. But, in most situations it should not be a problem

it's Calories in vs. Calories out; thus, the best way to go about it is by looking at your Caloric intake and making sure you're not taking in too many calories; where as, on the other side of the equation look at your caloric output and make sure you're output is high enough (i.e. exercise). Weight x 12 is a good starting point to see what your Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is.

carbs + fats is bad if the carbs are processed and the fats are saturated for example your average fast food mcdonalds type meal

however say veggies and fat such as salmon are good combos...
so oats and flax oil i would say are ok. but i guess it also depends on the person and the amount of carbs you were having. I have no problem with eating oatmeal and a serving of nat pb or a tbsp of flax oil
