Mis-use of Karma. Moderators - please read.

Yes, I agree. There was a thread a while back where I dared to say that I was gay and didn't consider that there was anything wrong with that. I was immediately attacked for being unnatural, against god, being abnormal because I can't reproduce, etc, etc. - all the arguements that have long been addressed by queer theory if those homophobes had cared to investigate.

In any case I PMed one of the flamers and we ended up having a very constructive exhange of several emails. It gave me great insights into his Christian perspective and allowed him to realise that what he thought were watertight arguements against homosexuality were far from it. In the end we agreed to disagree.

But in any case my point is that he at least put his name to his comments. He's said nothing nasty about me since.

In any case my activist friend has sent me some contacts for anti-discrimination groups in the USA. Surprisingly there is very little protection for gay people in US law (unlike here at home). Anti-discrimination protection is largely limited to race and religion.
