MEAT on the counter

Have you ever left frozen meat on the counter and forgotten about it? By the time you remember (10 hours or overnight) it was room temp? If you cook it, will be ok, or is it trash?

My parents defrost it by just putting it in the sink in the package in the morning, no one has ever gotten sick. You should be fine.

It's fine

don't worry or cook it a bit longer

I put mine out to defrost in the AM, work 12 hours, then come home and cook. Never ran into a problem, other than the dogs getting to it first!

Do it all the time & still use it..... You should be fine....

thats how i always defrost my chicken, i try not let it sit at room temperature to long though. usualy 8 hours is plenty to fully defrost a normal size piece of chicken.

You are fine, stinky meat and brown meat (before you cook it!) are bad of course. Putting it in the fridge the day before will thaw it just fine.
