McDonalds Iced Coffee Review:

In a word...HORRIBLE. I tried it today after hearing from numerous coworkers and friends just how great it is and it is disgusting. I kid you not, Folgers Crystals tastes better! It was a sad attempt at copying starbucks and fell short by a mile. Don't waste your time or your money.

I DO like Starbucks new Pike Place Roast though. It came out at the same time as McD's coffee marketing blitz.

I love coffee, but specifically espresso. I'm no a big drip coffee fan, not strong enough for me. IF starbucks is pressed right, they have some excellent espresso. I've tried petes and it's decent, but so far starbucks is how I start my morning. Luckily I have a friend that manages one on my way to work so I get lots of free coffee.

This shit is horrible. It is loaded with sugar and fat. I would rather pop some No Doz and eat a few donuts. That would be about the same nutritional value.

dude...pressed right? Starbucks has the machine do everything now. They've taken the art form out of being a barista. Any idiot can work at staryucks with almost no training. No need to know how to adjust a grind or what pressure to tamp, what a good shot should look like, etc.

Starbucks over-roasts their coffee and it is bitter and burnt. You should be able to drink a properly roasted and drawn shot of espresso straight without any problems or making a bad face.

Again, best marketing does not = best coffee...but to the masses it seems the case. Starbucks must be the best because they're the biggest, etc.

I get a 5 shot iced cafe mocha. Great coffee taste and I have themput half the syrup and skim milk in it without the foo foo foam and crap on top. That way I get a cool drink with a strong espresso taste. It's great.

I agree with you. I have a nice espresso maker at home for weekends and what not. My friend that manages the starbucks I regularly go to does it right and I can taste the difference. When I go to another starbucks, it is usually more bitter and "harsh". It's all in the draw and how a manager teaches his baristas.
