I'd go anywhere to fly the helicopters. Apache or Blackhawk. Is that Army? They had them in 6th Cav when I was in.

where are the Marines and SEALs in the operation? this looks like its gonna be an army operation. as long as Osama gets his ass kicked, who cares...no time to be fighting among the services
 
The Marines were there the day it happened. We have what is called MEU's, Marine Expeditionary Units. They are considered special force capable at a strength of 2200 Marines plus supplies and toys. We also had Recon in there. And I am sure the Navy Seals were there too, the same day.

and everything you hear on the news is right.....most covert operations aren't exactly going to public knowledge..EVER. The Seals have been getting some work too!!!
 
Trust me the Marines were there long before the army was there.

That is what we do, first in last out. Same with Desert Storm and every war prior and since.

I remember seeing a news report before I left, when the army was mobilizing. The reporter said "they can be anywhere in the world in 72 hours!!" LMFAO...we'll be there in 12 or LESS. HA, HA, HA!!
 
Not at all, it is a given fact that we were there first. We have what is called MEU's. All they do is float around the world on ships looking for trouble. We were there before and will be there after.
 
Well though I'm going into the Army I'll send out a Semper Fi to all the Jarheads

My cousin was a desert marine and was part of that group that took a chartered flight into Saudi

Needless to say he has since laughed about what their chances would have been like had Sadam decided to stroll into Saudi
 
How do they decide which "companies" (if thats what they call them), go over first?

My friend who is in the Marines left on a mission that he couldn't talk about shortly after 9/11. How do they determine which go over first? I assume it has nothing to do with age. Is it about what you're doing in the Marines? ie; computers, mechanic, etc?

Or is it just a lottery type thing?
 
It is whomever is assigned responsibility for that area and then on what else is or may be needed.

I could continue in that direction, but I've actually had some pretty good experiances with Marines. (looking out in foriegn ports, ect) Plus some of my friends are Marines.

No matter if your in the Army, Navy, Marines, or Airforce we all got a job to do inorder for each of us to kick a little ass

There are alot of fat bodies in my rate or MOS for you other guys. Mostly female though. I guess that's why the PRT standards were raised for the USN.
