This is causing a few animated discussions in many places.

Let's have one here...

I am going with Pacman!

I just hope this fight happens, it just has to.

If Mayweather shows up with the assigned weight I have Manny winning.

I am totally amazed by his performance last night. I actually think he is faster than Mayweather. Mayweather is skilled and he has an amazing reach for his height, and I doubt he will show up at 145 (which would be the catch-weight).

Manny is an ATG after that performance last night.

It's so hard to call but then so was the fight last night and look what happened.

Mayweather has awesome defence and great speed/tactics but Manny is so fast and skillful too. With that speed comes great power. It could go either way.

See this Manny training vid: YouTube - Manny Pacquiao vs. heavy bag awesome speed and power. I train at a bxing gym and doing that on a heavy bag is hard...and knackering.

Well, it sounds like Mayweather is now wanting this fight to happen. No more ducking when he can earn 70 million I guess.

Mayweather talks up Pacquiao fight - CNN.com

(CNN) -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. has said he is ready to make the big-money fight with newly crowned WBO welterweight world champion Manny Pacquiao happen.

After victory in Las Vegas over Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto on Saturday, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach said the "whole world" now wanted to see a fight with Mayweather.

Reacting to the proposition the undefeated 32-year-old, who formerly held the WBC title at welterweight, told British broadcaster Sky Sports: "If he wants to fight Floyd Mayweather all he has to do is step up to the plate."

The twice-voted Ring magazine fighter of the year added that he felt Pacquiao's approach was one-dimensional but the Filipino would be a favorite with the crowd.

"The thing is with Pacquaio I don't see any versatility as a fighter; he's a good puncher but just one-dimensional. Is Pacquiao the greatest?

"The world's going to go 'wow' if Floyd Mayweather gets beaten. That's what everyone is looking to see.

"If I beat Manny Pacquaio do you know what they are going to say? 'You are supposed to beat him, you are Floyd Mayweather, you are the bigger man'. If I knock him out they'll say 'you're supposed to knock him out he's been knocked out before'.

"I'm in a no-win situation and when I beat him no one is going to be surprised because he's been beaten before; whatever I do to Pacquaio has been done before - he's been beaten on three occasions. And if I knock him out I don't want the world shouting because he's been knocked out twice before."

If the fight goes ahead it is expected to challenge the mark set by Oscar De La Hoya's bout with Floyd Mayweather for the most profitable in history.

Money generated from pay-per-view subscriptions earned the two fighters an estimated combined total of $77 million in 2007.

Mayweather, whose nickname is "Money," said: "If I go out and make $60-75 million in one night; come on - I'm not losing."

Lol at his shit talk.

Can't wait for Manny to connect a left with his face.

I really think Mayweather has the skills and defense to shutdown Pac's fast flurries. Mayweather has the best defense of about almost any boxer I've seen. So far, no one has figured out how to break through Mayweather's tight defense. Can't wait to see the fight.

odds have shifted

mayweather is now the favorite in this fight..

I'm telling you guys, Mayweather might be the smartest boxer's technically. I want be wrong but I feel he will beat him. Have you guys heard the fresh news about Pac not wanting to comply with the drug testing procedures?

If it 's not sorted in the next few days then it won't go ahead. Mayweather is playing games saying he now wants Olympic style random drug tests for Pac (never been done before in boxing). This is afetr he requested a heavier weight, heavier gloves, a bigger ring and ..."wiggle room" so that he didn't make the weight.

Pac has agreed to 3 blood tests and constant urine tests but doesn't want blood taken just before the fight as he feels it weakens him. So they're at a stalemate. Brillaint.

Now that it's off for now, it looks like Mayweather is gonna have a worthy boxer to choose in place of Pac. Berto pulled out of the fight with Shane, so now he can fight Mayweather. If mayweather, dosen't he's gonna look like a BITCH!!! He wasn't expecting this to happen, I bet.

Mayweather is so afraid of Pacman he's been making up stories so the fight won't happen. And it did.

Pacman vs Clottey now.

Pacquiao was awesome as clottey. not much you can do when a guy with that defence doesn't come to fight but damn those combos.

Floyd would have to knock Pac out because Pac's work rate would be enough to win on points. Floyd has never been in the kind of fight that Pacquiao would bring.

I don't think it will happen now though. Maywather doesn't want that fight.

I hope this fight pushes through! I'm voting for manny on this fight. The best pound for pound fighter in the world today.

Floyds is the better boxer pacman is the better fighter. As much as floyd likes to fight smaller opponents pacman is one small guy floyd doesnt want to see. I got pacman tearing his ass up and floyd on his bicycle runnin around the ring!

PACMAN would win but so many politics this fight may never happen.

Sad to say, but Manny is now fighting Shane. Then again, May has legal problems now. What an idiot. He was going to make 40 million off that fight, not including all the other percetages they make from PPV and endorsement ect.

Fight will never happen.

Floyd offered $40 milly and was ready to wire transfer $20 mil right now away but deal was declined.

Manny wants 50/50 and even if that does happen, the blood test won't happen.

After Floyds last fight people are saying Manny will destroy him, other than a slightly bloody nose what the hell did Cotto do? Throw a bunch of punches that all got blocked?

Another problem is Bob Arum, Floyd hates him and I don't see him ever doing a deal with him to set up the fight.

Who will win? Don't know, people can speculate all they want but until it happens, who cares.

But props to Floyd for not fighting at a catch weight, like Manny made Cotto do.

Notice though how Floyd wasn't his overly cocky self after the last fight? It was his first REAL fight ever.

here's the big problem... neither one of them are in their prime anymore... pacquiao looked like shit against marquez in his last fight... he looked like he was aging... floyd still looked great and i think he actually fought because he wanted to prepare himself to take some hits because if he actually does fight manny, hes going to get hit... i think floyd will beat manny... i used to think the other way but you have to remember, the more abusive fights you go through over time you just are never the same... pacquiao has fought so many all out wars that he is finally wearing down... think about his fights with morales, barerra, the three with marquez... thats just a few... just like running backs in football... you can only take so much abuse... how many wars has floyd been in... i can count them on one hand... floyd's preserved his body well and thats why he's able to still move the way he does... I truly think floyd will win if they actually fight but im not sure they will...

Great post.

I agree with you. The marquez fight Manny looked a little shaky where Floyd looked in total control against Cotto even though he did get tagged a couple times. Floyd hasn't been known for his power since moving up weight classes yet he still rocked Cotto a couple times. Cotto looked to be in trouble more times than Floyd did especially in the 12th round.

I will put money on Floyd any day of the week. Sure his attitude isn't the greatest but I think it makes the sport more interesting. They have to do what they have to do to get the BIG MONEY and the BIG MOUTH is cashing in pay cheques all day long.

Old post but yeah... Floyd for money... Heart would be cheering mayweather..

Im a fan of both...but Floyd will be remembered for dodging the Pacman fight and it makes his shit talk sound loose. Floyd is great at business but his reputation as true warrior and immortal fighter is tarnished for dodging Manny. He can't have it both ways . You can not call yourself the best if you deliberately dodge the best contender.....

At the time of him dodging, manny wouldn't have won without a knockout... But if Floyd survived he woulda earned that fight and lost a few years off his career.
