I dunno, its all headshots without make-up. Yeah most of them seem to have alien head syndrome.

In my opinion Rachel's untouched photos look 100 times better than these girls.

I think that if you saw most of these girls with make up, hair down, and smiling you'd think they were beautiful. Some are strange looking for sure, but most have great lips and nice eyes.
Very few women look great without makeup and their hair pulled back. Plus, they are all model thin, which isn't a great look when they aren't smiling (concentration camp).

I thought I saw them in there. I've never thought any of them were knockouts in the first place, but I didn't think they'd look that bad without makeup on.

Often when I see the girls on that Top Model show I wouldn't even look at them twice if they walked past because they are not attractive at all. However, they photograph well with makeup and nice clothes.

why are you guys surprised? Stiletto nailed it. VERY few women look good without make up, and the hail pulled back thing is sooo accurate. i always hated when girls pulled their hair back (unless it was to blow me). Not to mention, none of these girls have tans. A tan is the only way a girl can somewhat compensate for a lack of makeup, but like most models these girls are so pale they could be in Pacman.

modeling isn't really neccessarily about being beautiful as much as it is fitting a certain prototype (tall, extremely skinny, having some type of unique feature possibly)

you guys are picky. i have far from low standards, and i found a lot of those girls attractive.
The 5th from the left in the 1st, 3rd and 5th rows are the only hot ones. The 1st one in the 2nd row ain't bad either. Some of those girls heads look way bigger than their frames though. Eat some more or something.

exactly. to work runway you have to be over 5' 9", about 110-115 lbs, 34-24-34, and be able to walk well. to do print, you have to be about the same size, but also be photogenic, pose well, and have the "it" factor that sells clothing/accessories. but not look too commercial.
also worth mentioning that there is a general attitude towards youth worship, as in the body of a fifteen year old is considered to be desirable in terms of fashion.

I think it shows that almost anyone can be a model if you have the right makeup and most important, a good photographer and good lighting.

make up or not, a lot of those girls are incredibly beautiful.
that said, a lot of those girls are models because they have ridiculous bodies. it takes a lot more than face to succeed in that field.

My question is why would they even release these pictures to begin with? What's the point? It'd be like a bodybuilder arriving at a show with no tan, wearing no oil, and not bothering to flex at all during the pre-judging, just standing there like an idiot.
To be fair, Adriana Lima does still look pretty awesome, and several others look pretty good, but some of those girls are just a lost cause. I've seen better looking sorority girls as I walk across campus early in the morning and I find them doing the walk of shame from some frat house.
I think the message to guys is to never be intimidated by a woman's beauty, and the message to girls is don't be obsessed with being perfect, because it doesn't exist.

only saw "one" i would smash. What's frightening is I have better hair than all of those girls save maybe one or two. The skin and hair on those girls are "awful"...they clearly don't take care of themselves whatsoever. These are girls still living off their youth and partying. In a few years they will look like they're in their late 30's early 40's....and not the good kind of I militantly take care of myself MILF either. It'll be the lifelong meth addicted stripper on her last legs look. It will not be good....shit some of them look there already.
