Yes people it is possible with 1 change that you can lose fat and inches off your waistline, legs and what not without doing any cardio whatsoever. Not only that but you can digest your food better and have been immune health all at the same time

Yes , this wonder drug is called yogurt. Even if you are lactose intollerant like myself , the need for dairy digestant while eating 8oz of yougurt for me has been none.

It is a great diet addition

agreed... my wife has been doing great with her dieting and training... 2 years after having 2 kids she now has less bf% than when i met her... she prob weighs the same as when i met her... but looks way better... she is strong as hell too... one of the strongest women in our gym (not a hardcore gym... but she squats more than all those ambercombie-type guys)...
back on topic... she loves yogurt as a snack and i have recomended it for her... her colorie intake is low as she is trying to burn fat still... but since adding in the yogurt about 6 months ago... she has made the most progress by far... i would definatly give it a portion of the credit...

Dairy augmentation of total and central fat loss in obese subjects.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: We have previously demonstrated an antiobesity effect of dietary Ca; this is largely mediated by Ca suppression of calcitriol levels, resulting in reduced adipocyte intracellular Ca2+ and, consequently, a coordinated increase in lipid utilization and decrease in lipogenesis. Notably, dairy Ca is markedly more effective than other Ca sources. DESIGN: Obese subjects were placed on balanced deficit (-500 kcal/day) diets and randomized to control (400-500 mg Ca/day; n = 16) or yogurt (1100 mg Ca/day; n = 18) treatments for 12 weeks. Dietary macronutrients and fiber were held constant at the US average. MEASUREMENTS: Body weight, body fat and fat distribution (by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry), blood pressure and circulating lipids were measured at baseline and after 12 weeks of intervention. RESULTS: Fat loss was markedly increased on the yogurt diet (-4.43+/-0.47 vs -2.75+/-0.73 kg in yogurt and control groups; P<0.005) while lean tissue loss was reduced by 31% on the yogurt diet. Trunk fat loss was augmented by 81% on the yogurt vs control diet (P<0.001), and this was reflected in a markedly greater reduction in waist circumference (-3.99+/-0.48 vs -0.58+/-1.04 cm, P<0.001). Further, the fraction of fat lost from the trunk was higher on the yogurt diet vs control (P<0.005). CONCLUSION: Isocaloric substitution of yogurt for other foods significantly augments fat loss and reduces central adiposity during energy restriction..

There does seem to be some merit to dairy/yougurt with weight loss, the data is weak, and contrarian studies are definitely out there. Most of the notable studies that tout dairy as "overwhelmingly" successful if you follow the money are funded by the dairy association....

However as noted, there are parameters that were left out in the original post and need to be annunciated so that if one does not read the study, folks eager to "melt" fat off their waist magically will jump on the idea of just adding yogurt to their diet. Parameters of the study as noted....these folks were both hypocaloric and isocaloric.

a calorie is a calorie is a calorie

less = less body mass

the only variable I would interject in the need for foods wtih high vitamin content
since this would facilitate a low calorie diet even further with more effect and safety

Thanks Omega , this is aside from the folks who argue for the sole sake of arguing and end up not saying anything or contradicting themselves in the process.

There may be differing studies out there that are funded by differing industries, but I have yet to find any. If I posted what I have read on the subject there would be tons of links and they all say the same thing. Also I don't believe that the dairy indusry has anything to do with the real health benefits of yogurt. I would bet that soy yogurt would show similar results. But you have to do as the study suggests. Replace some of your calories with yogurt and you may infact see weight and inches lost.

As far as the vitamin issue , what needs to be understood is that yogurt contains cultured milk. There are probiotic bactierial strains in the product which live in your intestines. Some of these bacteria make a better place for your stomach to digest food. Others such as lactobacillus bulgaris have a direct role in digesting proteins. But most importantly they can digests foods and secrete antioxidants , anticarcinogens, and antimicrobial chemicals, I think this part of the equation is all gastroenterology and has nothing to do with funding or the diary industy.

Anyway

ADVERSE REACTIONS

The most common adverse reactions with use of probiotics are gastrointestinal and include flatulence and constipation. Probiotics are generally well tolerated.
