Loose shirt for training?

nu2shirt

New member
hey guys, i'm thinking of getting a loose shirt to use for some ME exercises. i would probably just get a cheap inzer poly and cut the back up. my purpose would be for saving my shoulders. what do you guys think of this?

what do you mean by save you shoulders? are the hurting you? if thats the case then you need to make sure your form is perfect and make sure you DO do shoulder work, especialy rotator cuff work.

ack i worded that wrong. yes, i did tweak my rotator cuff a couple weeks ago but i have been doing lots of cuff complex since then. i just heard somewhere about sometimes guys would wear loose shirts just to help keep their shoulders safer when maxing in training. just something i heard so i thought i would bring it up

well instead of putting on a loose shirt i suggest you get to the root of the problem, the shirt IMO will only provide a temporary relief, if you dont address the problem with you shoulders right now they will come back later and possibly worse. my advice is to take it easy on you bench workouts, still train but stay away from movements that hurt your shoulder. do alot of shoulder work right now, internal, external rotations, general delt exercises, anything you can do to tighten up and strengthen the area. also make sure your form is perfect, this can be the cuase of your aching shoulder. also if you squat take your hands out as wide as you can, it will take some stress off the shoulders.

can you tell me what an internal rotation is? i got the external one down fine. i'm mainly doing tons of cuff complex and my shoulders feel better after every one. also, i switched up my workout to take out DE bench for a while cause it is hurting a bit and now i have a mix of MM and WS

internal is the opposite of external rotation. so go towards your body as opposed to away from your body with external rotations.

i would recomend you keep the DE day, you need it to keep your form perfect, or perfect it, just back the weights down accordingly.

hey...

i am a believer in using equipment to add pounds as well as protect your body.

since my pec repair, i have used a cut single poly for heavy bench press work.

if your rotators are bothering you, i think this may be something you should do if you are in need of pushing your bench.

i took the shirt, cut it up the back and neck and put it on anything > 365-405.

I also do a lot of benching in my competition shirt (double denim). Since doing this, my shoulders have stopped bothering me and my bench has gone way up.

there are many solutions to any given problem. try things out and see what works for you.
