Long term testosterone replacement?

My doctor has prescribed me 200mg of test but seems to not want me to cycle it. She wants me to stay on it for 6-12 months.

My worry is that getting off of it may be an issue. My test levels were low. 97 was my last test before starting Test.

You don't cycle trt. You maintain with a certain dose and up it into a cycle once or twice a year. Depending on your goals.

Your doctor is suggesting prescribing TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

In most cases when you have test that low this is the way to fix it. Also in most cases you are on it for the rest of your life.

If you decide to go on TRT you need to monitor blood pressure, estrogen, and RBC count. A blood test every quarter is a minimum.

All of this should have been discussed with your doctor.

Thanks for the responses guys! Yes I feel like my doctor should have been a little more up front about everything. I guess that 12 minutes every couple of months is not enough time to explain anything.

I'll do more research and see what my options are.

yes that is trt dose .did she say ONLY use it 6-12 months and then stop or are you assuming. If she told you that , she is a quack

TRT is typically long term,,,perhaps for most of your life. A definite long term commitment. You don't cycle OFF and ON with TRT.

yea pretty easy stuff. cycling is .. well cycling and trt is not comming off.Im shocked a dr doesnt know this

I'm a pharmacist. It's replacement therapy. It's to maintain a baseline level of testosterone in your blood. No cycle..... It's to stay on it to replace physiological levels of testosterone you should have (or in most cases a little over the physiological amount). Your dr is confused or you guys had a communication error. This is common. A lot of Drs don't understand. I moved and am on trt and my new dr looks at 200mg of test cyp a week as the root of all evil. I'm 39 and my test levels were low after pct. So a dr put me on test cyp. Move here and new dr wants blood levels in order to stay on it. Well, my new dr doesn't get my test levels aren't low now so she says I don't need test cyp..... I DONT LOOK LIKE I NEED TEST LOOKING AT MY BLOOD WORK BECAUSE IM ON TEST! So she wants me to come off trt and test my levels again to see if I need trt still?!?! This is unethical. Just get on it and stay on it. Pm me if you have questions.
