florencenoir New member Sep 20, 2018 #2 The belt keeps the intra-abdominal pressure, so we can lift more weight. The belt provides support, but it does not prevent injury. If your technique is bad, with or without a belt, you run the risk of getting hurt.

stevesmi Head Mod Elite Moderator Sep 20, 2018 #3 at the end of the day belts do more harm than good. they actually create more imbalances. years ago on this very forum i would argue with people about this topic but now people mostly agree with me. wearing belts, gloves, straps, wraps will all create imbalances. i wouldn't be caught dead using any of that shit. lift raw and lift with correct form
