I usually get good grades- so I did not do this very often... Once though I did, the kid in front of me looked like a real nerd- and was asian too, so I figured I was good to go on anything I did not know.... got the worst grade ever... that kid was a moron...

The "loner" kid in highschool always has a close ally/friend, the "loner" kid on the street always has a bunch of other "loner" kids to hang out with, but collectively they are known as "loners", etc etc. That's the point. Literally speaking, the term "loner" (or in this case "stand alone") is a misused term. Nobody really stands alone come on.
