Hi there. I am going to Asia for two weeks:

Beijing---> Shanghai--> Viet Nam--> Singapore.

Might also get to Hong Kong and Malaysia. Some of it is work, but I'll have plenty of free time, too.

Anyone been there? Any suggestions on what to do? Where to go?

When you go to Singapore, be sure and put a few bricks of pot in your backpack.

me love you long time

Have fun!

get all your travel vaccinations done, there are lots of nasty bugs in asia that youve likely not come across before. for the same reason, try to avoid local water (not to sound like your dad, but lots of wannabe travellers get a nice case of gastro when travelling through asia, and spend a lot of time on a toilet)

ummmmmmm apart from that...i dunno, i like to wander, so im no help ;)

Not hitting Taipei? Hope you are travelling first or business class. That 13 hour flight across from LAX or SFO is a pain in the ass.

hey bro, have a safe trip. dont bring back a wife ok? its been known to happen a lot in the navy.

if you need anything just give a call.

Ouch, I feel your plane. Sounds like you are going on a US carrier tho, not China Airlines or Cathay Pacific. China Airlines service was great but they aren't known for aircraft reliability. I have 40,000 miles with them I'll never use.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is: "Never get involved in a land war in Asia." But, only slightly less well known is this: "Never go in against a Sicilian, when death is on the line!"

Cathay service is great. Best prices as well bar none.

Fast Twitch Fiber,

They're not going to cane me. They're going to give me lots of cool stuff which I can barter for pit bulls, which I will promptly unleash on you.

Have fun if you get out shopping which knowing you that will happen check out the electronics obviously most everything comes to market there first so they have the latest and greatest.

In Vietnam (this is also true in the Phillipines) if you pop off about 50 rounds from an M-16 and give the shell casings to some guy in one of the poorer villages, he will give you his daughter for the night.

Be sure to inspect her little "hooker card" to make sure she is free of any diseases.

Oh yeah, and I just pre-ordered season 8 of The Simpsons. See if you can pick me up seasons 9-12.

Also, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang on DVD.

LOL nah not big on the electronics, how ever if you happen to be visiting some sweat shops in your travel my shoe size is 7 and clothes is 4 ;) For $100 US could probably by a whole wardrobe over there.

I have Ambien; we'll see how it goes.

I don't even know where we are staying; I'm traveling with a guy who owns several companies and meeting with government reps over there, so I assume the recommendations are to standard. :)

went to hong kong and singapore for two weeks while in the navy. i remember both places being super clean and super bustling. both seem like great cities to me and i'd live in either one. i cant suggest any thing to do because all we did was party. oh yea and i bought electronics. have fun.

Bring condoms.....lots of condoms....if you plan on doing any of....well, you know.

Wait 4 months and I will meet you there!

Best wishes on your trip and let me know how it goes so I will have a head up on my first trips. How is your work out going to be? I love to travel but hate the time away from the gym.

I love Asia and all of their women. Well, not all of them, but a lot of them.

Sounds like a lot of fun. If you haven't been around Asia before, it should be an enlightening and eye opening experience to a drastically different way of life. Lots of beautiful and exotic places to see and incredible people to meet. Lots of great food. Good shopping in Beijing. Same with Shanghai, although with both you won't really see the real China, as you probably know, but still great cities. Shanghai being probably the fastest growing city in the world.

Never been to Vietnam, but I know a few people from there. There are a lot of great opportunities in South East Asia. Both business and pleasure. Be careful and let it loose!

refrain from sex with birds there ,nasty case of chirpies going around, its like herpes but the Doc's there say its untweetable!

advice for china: don't make anyone believe you have something of value. I just came from a friend's funeral 2 weeks ago.

He's a businessman out of USA, was coming to see me for some investment properties. As he was walking down downtown shenzhen, after visiting me in guangzhou, he was talking on his $500+USD cell phone. Someone came up behind him and slashed his throat, took his cell phone and wallet. Point being: don't flash anything...cell phones, money, jewelry, armani suits etc... China is a great country, but it's like any country out there, there are good and bad people. Unfortunately, a lot of people are turning to crime due to desperate situations.

Like I said, play it safe, just as you were going to eastern europe or any other country.

if I might add, he was wearing armani and just came from a store buying something with a large sum of money - i.e. watch

Ahh sorry to hear Mr X. That really sucks..

As for vitenam for 150,000 dong each you can have sex with a 12 and 18yr old chicks at the same time like the british rock star. Oh and btw 150,000 dong is equivelent to 10 US$. Also be careful there since most people get paid about 420$ a year!
