Lady Chaos at the Gym

I'm a walking catastrophe area. I have a high threshold for pain combined with a tendency to bruise, so I'm always discovering "mystery bruises."

For two weeks, I've sported a nice, rainbow-hued circle on the inside of my left wrist, the result of gesturing while talking and ramming my wrist against a bar.

Wednesday takes the cake, though. It was speed bench day. For tricep work I decided to do the rolling tricep extensions I'd seen Spatts do in a video.

I decided to forego the "rolling" part when I neglected to pull the dumbbells far enough apart on the return and wound up slamming two 20-pound dumbbells against my temples.

Owie!

Now I have matching bruises on either side of my forehead.

What a maroon!

OMG!

I've managed to whack myself on dumbbells before, but never left a bruise!

Poor thing...I bet that really hurt!

he he ... especially my pride!

I said a few, choice, ladylike words. :D

Too bad that one wasn't captured on film!

Cheese ALWAYS hits himself in the face while doing face pulls...I just sit back and watch him...every week.

It's not nice to laugh but...

:lmao:

It wouldn't be funny...if he didn't do it EVERY time...

And it is funny to hear him grunt and groan...then say..."ouch"...

Hey, that's what I said! "Ouch!" Then I looked around to make certain no one else had seen me and decided to do the cat thing: you know, "I meant to do that!" Russian physiologists have published studies showing that braining yourself with dumbbells increases muscle mass ... yeah. I'm sure I read that somewhere.

If I'd hit lower, I'd have two black eyes. Pretty funny.

Anyway, Cheese can borrow my Russian B.S. excuse if he wants. ;)

sorta OT here-- but w/bruising-- if your taking blood thiners (like aspirin) you will bruse easier... Vitamin C helps.

anyway-- I smashed my head on the bar once (checking out a cute guy)-- no bruise just really embarrassed :(

Iron, too. (The supplemental kind, not what you're lifting!)

Am I the only one who saw the thread subject and thought of an all-girl heavy metal band? "LIVE! ONE NIGHT ONLY! LADY CHAOS! APPEARING NEXT TO THE SQUAT RACK!"

LOL Ceebs! I thought it sounded like a comic book Supervillianess.

Well, I do take my multi, but will try to up the Vit. C and Iron. I've bruised like this ever since I can remember. Sometimes the only way I remember where I've been is by the bruises ....
