Oh! Sorry! But ladies, am I wrong on this? Don't you think that maybe my knowledge of a males point of view for BB won't exactly imply the same way for a petite female? As far as diet, exercise, and supplements?
Hmmm, yes and no.
Women can train and diet the same as men. Obviously, the portion sizes for food are less, but the percentages can be the same....especially for cutting. MOST women do not like to "bulk" the way men do. Men typically will bulk and add fat as well as muscle....most women (non-competitors) do not want the fat weight. Most likely because it IS a little harder for women to lose the fat (usually) than men. Probably due to our lower amount of muscle and testosterone. A man and a women on a traditional "cutting diet" will have different time frames for fat loss - the man will usually lose quicker than the female. All things being equal - no AAS use. There is some thought that women respond differently to carbs too. So maybe the female's diet should be slightly lower in carbs - or at least contain "cleaner" carbs - than the male.
As far as training, a woman can train the same as a man. A woman can train as heavy, as hard, as intense as the man - WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE A MAN. Even if the couple has the same split, the same intensity, the same determination - the female will NOT end up with as much muscle as the male. We simply do NOT have the testosterone levels to support that. The "bulkiness" many women get from training hard is USUALLY due to excess BF and/or a not-so-great diet.
What type of supplementation are you talking about? If it is AAS, then yes, she should get advice from the females here - or a male VERY experienced with AAS use and females. A female's dose is VERY different than a male's. And our response to drugs are VERY different usually.
If you are talking about LEGAL supplementation - such as protein and vitamins - then there is not much difference. Both sexes can use Protein Powder to supplement their diet, although females usually do not use a "mass gainer" or "meal replacement" powder. But a typical whey protein - sure. The benefits for a female are the same as for a male. The only vit/min a female usually needs that a male doesn't is Iron. Most active females (unless their diet contains a decent amount of red meat) need some additional Iron. But pills aren't necessary - eat 1 serving of red meat a day, maybe some chickpeas, some spinach, and she should be fine. Women who are trying to conceive should take in extra Folic Acid, but that doesn't seem like the case here.
Basically, a female should follow the same rules a man does - eat clean, limit processed foods, eat high in protein, moderate complex carbs, diet high in green veggies, diet moderate healthy fats, traing hard, train intense, train smart, rest often, drink loads of water, get a good nights sleep, don't overdo cardio, listen to your body.
