Kel-Tec

I've got a Kel-tec .380 pocket pistol and I'm thinking about getting either their Sub 2000 or SU-16 carbines. I've read some pretty good reviews on them. Anybody own one? Check them out at Kel-Tec.com

I've handled and dealt with many of these carbines. Both the 9mm ones and the .223 ones with the neat Bipod foregrips.

They are fine weapons, but don't except to be shooting them 900,000 times a year :)

I've got a P11. It serves full time duty in my glove box. I've only put about 200rds though it but for the money I've found Kel Tec to be one of the best values in a New pistol.

The sub 2000 looks pretty cool. But now that the AWB has ended you can get a full size uzi for $500. Depends on what you want the carbine for...

Full size, not fully automatic.

I went ahead and bought a Kel Tec Sub 2000 in a 40 S&W and I have to say it is an absolute blast. The Sub 2000 and SU-16 models are made to use Glock clips. My Sub came with a 10 shot Glock clip but I bought 3 additional 15 rounders. I've shot about 200 rounds through it, no problems whatsoever, accurate, easy to clean, and very light. When broken down it is very concealable. I got it through a good friend who is a dealer so I only paid $300 for it but even the retail gun store price is reasonable. Good gun for home defense or just plinking.

I've got a P40 and it jams all the time. I have little faith in the gun after the first shot is fired. By the way, I bought it used and it was in excellent condition. I heard they have this problem.

My .380 jammed on me once after me, my gf and brother had all taken turns shooting it pretty much non stop, about 70 rounds total. I took my Sub 2000 out last weekend and fired three 15 round clips and one 10 rounder as fast as I could load and shoot. I was basically seeing if it would jam, overheat, etc. No problems whatsoever, and when I cleaned it I was suprised at how little residue there was. I read a lot of different gun magazines and all of the reviews from different writers about Kel Tec, especially the Sub 2000 and SU-16 have been positive. I bought the Sub 2000 because it's pretty unique and I already have a pretty big gun collection so I though it would be a good addition. If I was going to war it would not be my weapon of choice, but for the money it's a good gun and a hell of a lot of fun to shoot.
