It does an awesome job on rice and I'm itching to try it out on some veggies... got any recommendations? I'm thinking broccoli and maybe string beans right off the bat... I'll admit, I'm not a veggie eater at all so this is new territory for me and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I've only used mine for rice....... post up how the veggies turn out.....

yeah they work great on both rice and veggies. i used mine all the time till i lost the damn cord in the last move i made. no i have to steam them over the stove. shitty. but still taste great. enjoy it

ive heard they work better for veggies and they keep more of the nutrients
That's what I've always heard too. It's got a little basket that sets above the water so it looks like it should work well... I'm just worried about a bland taste.

Any veggies can be bland by themselves..... Spices are your friend!!

omfg i totally didn't realize i could steam my veggies in my rice cooker. my grandma got one for my girlfriend and i :)

brocooli and green beans will now be even easier!

I just got one for Xmas too...and I just finished my first batch of broccoli - delicious. Got some brown rice in there now - hope that turns out as well, I should have enough of both for the rest of the week.

I finally got around to steaming some broccoli and it was effin' awesome. AWESOME. I'm psyched it turned out so well.

I had to buy a new one with some christmas money. My wife and I used our other one so much we wore it out. We use it everyday. Sure is alot easier than turning on the oven to bake them.
