its actually a ''convertible'' so it has the full keyboard and such. I want it for taking notes and browsing at campus hotspots. i dont need it to be the quintessential ''slate'' PC at this point, although at some point if i do need that for a professional school, then i would go with a slate that has like a 1.0 ghz ultra low voltage processor and use it that way.
oh... and my desktop blows balls, and sucks at doing that, so at least mediocre power was needed. the 1.7 pentium M clocks around the same speed as a 2.6 pentium 4 with hyperthreading technology, so its got a reasonable amount of power.

the computer im on right now, its a laptop by dell it was 3000. its amazingly fast. 3.6 ghz, 1gig ram, and an 80gb hardrive also. got the docking station so its just like real computer. i love it.
for $3000 I would have gone for the wide screen laptops or a tablet
congrats though, don't let me rain on your parade. New toys always make me feel like my life is more complete, if even for the 2 weeks before their newness runs out.
