Jealousy or What?

I couldn't find an appropriate forum, so posting here.

My problem is guys in the gym who seem to have a problem with me for no apparent reason.

I've noticed that it is always smaller and usually younger guys. Usually they try to do an alpha-male bullyish approach, though this is not always the case.

I've not yet figured this out. Anyone else been there?
 
I run in to this every now and then. There is this one old fat dude that's always making rude or backhand talk to me. I don't get it either.
 
Time to go in there and practice your pimp hand out on the guy.

You either have to let him make fun of you alll the time.

Get to be friends with him somehow so he no longer wants to talk trash to you

Of kick the shit out of him so he never wants to mess with you again. - this last one has to be done in a location that won't get you banned from the gym or put in Jail....:evil:

just ignore that shit, losers.... having said that i hate people at my gym for stupid reasons, funny looking, they double park, they once were on a machine i wanted, they are bigger than me..... so i'm prob like those guys accept i dont do they alpha male thing i just hate em.

I think I ran into this last week.

I was doing barbell bicep curls againts the wall so you cant sway your body only biceps does the work, strict form with 90lbs 2 seconds up squeeze 2 seconds down anyone knows that when done correct with strict form thats a pretty good load on the biceps for a set in the 12 rep range isolating the biceps as much as you can.

This silly fucker comes over grabs some 60lb dumbells get right infront of me and starts slining them around elbows in every directing weight falling back down with no resistance after each so called rep. It looked like someone was electricuting him and his arms were just slining up and down around with no control as his body waved jerking back and forth . Then he drops the weight and looks at me like " I did more then you did " and stomps off.

I was like what the fuck is this guys problem.

he did the same shit over at the squat rack a few days later. I am squating 315 in the rack for reps of 8-10 I like to go down pretty far always below parell just starting a leg work out and almost ready to move on to hamstrings. He comes over loads up 315 on the rack next to me does some 1/4 squat thing I have no idea what it was just looked like he stuck his butt out a few inches and pushed his pelvis forward to finish his rep he maybe went down all of 2-3 inches.

I try to stay away from idiots like those , My ipod is my best friend now adays with all the kooks in the gym .

Just Ignore the guy and try to stay out of the social scene.
 
Also If you figure only 20% of americans IQ is above average 30% is average and the other 50% is below average.
That means in a gym with 20 guys training 4 are prob above average , 6 are normal and the other 10 are not so bright .Thats alot of idiots walking around not only in the gym but in just the general public to encounter day after day

Pass them by, its jealousy. I never go to the gym to watch other people watching/talking about me. I train hard and stare at tits and ass that go by, that's it.
 
You know what pisses me off? When your finishing a set, getting ready to maybe move to machine X for the next set. Then before you get there you get either A or B.
a) some fucking fucktarded 20 yr old fatbody with chicken arms and legs and a piss pouch gut gets on the machine and has no idea what he is doing but proceeds to occupy the machine for 10 minutes.
b) the 3 or 4 high school jocky wanna be faggots that are attempting to work out for the once a month they do attempt it all go jump on it and load it down as much as possible and take turns seeing who can lift the most. Then when done jerking each other off....leave it loaded and walk away.

I have never had an issue at my gym. But I'm also 6'0 260. From my wifes constant input I know I have a very angry look about me all the time. So that saves me alot of unwanted conversation. plus the tatoos alover and really long hair add to it:p
I find people looking at me in the mirror sometimes but they dont know I know. Sometimes for kicks i will just turn around and look at them and say "what?" Thats followed with the putting head down, walking away proceedure.
When I go to the gym it should be me, maybe one other person that knows what they are doing and women doing cardio thats all that should be allowed there. :p My gym is semi private too, codes to get in, and if you time it right theres no one there but you. I dont think I could handle a planet fitness, Ballys type atmosphere anymore.
 
There is only one squat rack at my gym. I normally go in at about 5:30 or 6 a.m. When I go to use the squat rack there is an old fuck that has a towel hanging on the rack to mark his territory and then he goes off to do other exercises for about 5-10 minutes between his sets at the squat rack. I sat there once while he finished his stupid workout so I can get my squats out of the way. He did the same thing the next time so I just took over the rack. Now everytime I walk in and he is using the squat rack he leaves the rack so I can use it. I like not having to wait!
Then I get the morons who do the circuit training with just the bar in front of the mirror on the squat rack! That happened once last week and I let it go. Wont happen again!
 
I go to a few different gyms but never seem to run into any dickheads like this. Even at the franchise gyms. But then again, the areas these gyms are in don't exactly have many big dudes or serious lifters...

The worst I get is some dude trying to preach a routine to me. The guy is ALWAYS smaller and weaker but someone knows what is best for me in order to 'put on size' or 'increase my strength'.

Don't worry about it man. As your title suggests, it's most probably just jealousy.
 
I get this alot, 3 guys used to go to my school 2 years older than me, one is a cool guy, but his two faggot ass friends always try to stare me down and try and look big infront of me, one skinny kid big ears and curly hair always lookin at me watchin me do stuff sniggerin at me and shit like that then his black friend just as skinny does leg press 1/4 ROM and looks at me all tough, when I look at him he gives me the 'yeah what!?' look lmao. Swear Im gonna have to beat the first guys skinny white ass infront of his friends one day, he's the worst. Oh btw the white guy used 22lb Db's for his flat benching sets usually gets 10-12 reps.

I like to shout and grunt alot alot when Im lifting and he is near by to remind him how weak he is...

Other thing that pisses me off are the adults that work there telling me I do exercises wrong. One guy, real nice pretty big built very strong on things like clean and press, chins etc but never trains legs, says he bust his knee squatting ATG and now all he does for legs is like tuck jumps with no weight as part of circuits and shit. Saw him deadlifting once managed about 450lbs for 1 rep which is fuckin strong at my gym but had the worst form ever, completely round back and shit. Then he tells me stuff like Ill die young if I lift heavy and squatting ATG will fuck me up and ruin my life and shit like that.
 
And those days I am using something like the old but very cool lat row machine. The one with the adjustable chest pad and the height adjust seat and 3 different grip options. I get it all set up, I'm in the middle of like 6 sets using 3/4 of the plates on the machine. I finish a set and walk it off for 45 seconds then some circuit training asshole decides its ok to hop in and re adjust your machine and do 10 reps with 10 lbs. And the fucker knows your not done!!!! But hey its america right. then sit there on the machine stretching out for 30 seconds.
Then what he has successfully fucked up your rest between sets and walks away I go back over and get in right behind him bitching and slamming the adjustments back to where I had them and they have the nerve to walk away like they have no idea why your pissed off. Now I have to sit there and guard the machine. Unless its a chick then I let them use it:p and say "oh no prob do what ya gotta do". Yes I'm a scumbag.

Like when they go to adjust the seat, but you tell them it's more comfortable if they sit on your lap?

Oh wait...I'm the only one who does that? Guess that explains why I have to keep changing gyms. :spin:

Don't worry about it, dude. School is worse than the fucking corporate world when it comes to pissing contests.

When you're built like a brick shit-house and dwarfing these fuckers, stop and check to see who's talking shit then.
