'Jackass' picture of me today

I couldn't resist taking this pic. One of my hobbies is collecting Cold War era air raid sirens, and I belong to a couple of boards for siren collectors. One of the biggest things they all complain and moan about, is how nobody can manage to move one of these things without a shop crane.

So being the Irish showoff I am, I grabbed this 500-lb Federal SD-10 siren out of the truck, and posed holding it :lightning. Let the truth be known; I didn't even TRY to put it on the ground. I just lifted it from hip level, took a few steps back, and then returned it to the bed of the truck.

my recently scoped knees are aching in sympathy right now!

you should have this pic enlarged and Placed Prominently somewhere in your home.

Braggert.
Come back when you can press it overhead.

I'll have to figure out how to put it down first, LOL... Definitely the 43-year-old body is telling me this morning that I need to think carefully about those stunts.

I remember when I was 17 or 18, and did a stunt like that with a TV studio monitor, which weighed over 400 lbs. I didn't really lift it though. I rocked it back onto my knees, and it looked like a lift. This siren was real weight; all resting on the spine :smash:
