I've lost but still not working!

Sometime late last year, I decided I wanted to get into better shape. I'm not (or was) obeese, but I knew I had weight I DEFINITELY wanted to lose. (Mainly on my upper body area) At the time, I was 6'3'' and I was about 195-200lbs. Medium frame.

I knew I couldn't go "hardcore" like a lot of people do, and I felt I didn't have to do anything drastic so all I did was do some light exercise and ate better than I was eating. Before I would eat 3 means a day, and if I didn't eat in the morning (like breakfast) I would eat big dinners, and then maybe even right before I fell asleep.

Well, I started cutting down on what I ate, and ate small portions of food and eating them roughly 4-5 times a day every 3-4 hours. (Trying to speed metabolism. Like in the morning (Wake up at 8am) i'd eat raisen bran cereal and a fruit, 11:30am for lunch a sandwich (like turkey) 3pm i'd eat a snack like maybe a half a sandwich or even a granola bar or something, then for dinner maybe some brown rice and some chicken. This wasn't the SAME foods I ate, but it was basically small portions every 3 hours 5 times a day, mostly chicken/turkey for meat (cut of red meat) and i'd drink nothing but water. No sodas or anything. And if I did have foods not "healthy" I would eat a SMALL portion. I also cut off the bad foods like french fries, candy, donuts.

I did the carb a day/calories a day chart too and I was eating the right portions in which it said I had to eat in order for me to get to a lower weight as well.

My cousin also told me about this weight management named "Tonalin" that I used as well.

I also have an exercise bike that I would jump on 2 times (sometimes 3 times) a week, and ride for 30 minutes, and not ride under 18-20 mph. (basically a 10 mile ride) The bike moved where one moment it would be as if i'm going uphill then the next, i'd be going downhill.

Well, I lost some weight. I'm now the same height but i'm 175-180lbs. Basically I lost 20 pounds. But there still is a problem.

I can EASILY see that I lost weight in my face, neck, arms and legs, but I still have weight on my upper body (stomach/chest area) that is still there, and that's what I REALLY want to get off. Lately, I really haven't been eating the best things, and though i'm still the same weight, it looks as if I might have a little MORE weight on my body.

I'm kinda upset about it now. I look at the charts and a medium frame (did the wrist test and doctors even said) 6'3' 178 pounds is a good weight, (or at least not bad) but I still have this weight on me I don't want. I also read up somewhere on how metabolisms sometimes cause weight to be gained in certain areas and not distributed right, but who knows.

I'm really kinda tired of this.. I want to lose this unwanted weight on my body. I want to know if you guys can give me some advice. It's gotten to the point where i've tried things for a while, and now since I have, I kinda want fast results, whether it be taking some supplement, or doing a certain exercise to focus on what I want, or anything.

Please help me out!

You're not training with weights... you'll keep loosing weight (probably a good amount of muscle too) and you'll still be skinny fat.

Start a training routine... check out the Weight training forum, read the "READ FIRST" thread at the top and find a routine that you'd like to try.

It's great that you've started eating frequently... we can deff. clean that up too... seems like not enough protein, ur eating alot of carb/breads.

The thing is, i'm afraid to lift weights and and gain muscle, in which gains weight, and then i'll definitely be confused!

But I will read up on what you said. I just want to get the weight off my body off.

Start weight training and keep away from them retarded charts stating whether or not you are obese or "healthy." Most doctors could give a rats ass about appearance anyway. Them weight guides, especially BMI rating are a joke.

You start training with weights 3-4 times per week, you will see a HUGE difference.

Tonalin is a waste. There are much better fat-loss products available for the money. Check out the AF site and their supplement line. If you have any problems deciding what may be best for you, then make a post over on the supplement section here at elite and with a new thread directing attention toward both Ulter or Macro, and they will be able to give you some tips.

Copy and paste this thread over to the supplement board so they have an idea of your situation. Post a thread something along the lines of : "Need help deciding: Macro/Ulter"

One thing to note, do not get discouraged. Keep your head up and just keep chugging away at it. Know that stomach/Lower back fat is usually the last to go for most men due to its dense amount of alpha-2 receptors. Once you start lifting weights, you will notice a great deal of improvement ibn the chest region.

Honestly man, your weight doesn't matter. If you are gaining weight via muscle, what the hell is the negativity of that? Stop measuring via pounds and start by doing body fat once or twice a month and watch that number go down. By adding muscle you will look 100x better than by not incorporating a weight training regime..

I getcha poysyn, but the reason I say via muscle is because I used to do a ton of sit ups and crunches, and I ended up gaining muscle UNDER the fat I hat.

So yea, I should start some light weight training then. What weight training should I do to get rid of the stomach region then? (I wanna avoid what I mention above ^^^ :P)

And I will post in the supplement section. Thanks

Go to the training section and read the Training Sticky and find a routine that looks fun to you... stick to it and you'll see results.

BTW: There is NO such thing as "spot" reduction. You'll loose your stomach fat when you loose it... as Mr.BMJ stated, it's usually the last to go.

if you want results you need discipline....plain and simple.

if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten. time to switch the gears my friend!!! first off like everyone said...you need to weight train. second, you need to be doing cardio. third, you need a diet that works for you. add all these together and you'll have success i can guarentee you that!

can you do the treadmill or outdoors cardio? imo it's better then the stationary bike...i hardly sweat when i'm on that thing. what exactly are you eating everyday? do you drink? how much do you drink?

I don't drink alcohol. Like at all heh.

Btw, thanks for the "spot" advice. I'll just get crackin.

In terms of the dicipline, yea I was diciplining myself for a bit, which is why I lost 20 pounds.. But i'm probably gonna have to go a little harder.

I don't have a ton of weights so i'm probably going to have to stick to cardio. Outdoors heh.

Thanks a lot guys!
