Its not mine, its my roommates. He is a professional pianist and figured it was time he stepped up and bought a 7 foot Grand.

Fucking a though, I'm nervous I'm gonna drop a coke inside that thing or something.. its fucking sweet and sounds better then any piano I've ever touched.. by 30K is just so much.

Enjoy! Stromba plays too, we have a small grand. The only thing allowed on it is his music and a tip jar.

that's awesome.. nothing allowed on this thing either...

That's cool your hubby plays, having talent with an instrument is something I wish I had.

He mainly plays by ear and our daughter also got his gift for music. She's playing piano by ear as well and is now learning the chello. I just sit back and enjoy listening to them since I'm muscially challengened.

I"m jealous i would love to play that thing!
I have a 1948 (can't make out the name) it was imported here by my aunt, it also has an air pump that plays rolls of sheet music. Pure Ivory Keys also.

My roommate can pretty much pick up any piece, and sight read it on the spot to perfection... a lot of people can do that with a simple stuff, but he'll do it with fast complicated shit. It's incredible.

He also plays bass guitar as well.

Stromba was taking lessons to learn how to read music for a while then other obligations became a priority so he stopped. I know he'd like to continue when things slow down. Maybe this summer when business is slower he can get back to it.

If he's that good then the cost is perfectly justified. Is it new? Who makes it? The first thing I am buying for my house when I'm out in the real world is a medium grand Steinway. I just started playing this past December and kick myself for not starting years ago. Oh well I'm learning slowly with what little time I have during school and all.
I encourgage anyone to learn to read music as well. I learned when I was younger and it helped me pick up piano quicker than I would have otherwise, most likely. Once you know the 12 notes, the rest is all counting. Here is a site that goes into a little more depth on the subject for anyone interested:

Its a Schimmel, 7ft Grand. Black.

i can't justify $30k for a single item period... i have $30k worth of studio equipment but that includes various keybaords, mixers, and a whole shitload more. Would i like to have a 30k grand... you are damn straight... maybe one day when i make my millions... but until then...

wow!! my sister was looking for a piano so her kids could learn to play and she was floored at the cost of them. although the ones she saw were not $30,000 a good one was at least $8,000. she ended up buying one of those electronic keyboards with a million options. it is like a computer. it can sound remarkedly like a real piano.

to Lestat! i bought a house this week after months of looking. i live here in san diego too so i understand what you are going thru. everything costs a fortune here and ended up spending WAY more than i wanted but the house is beautiful and in a nice area. you can't really lose with real estate in this city but you gotta be willing to jump into the market. good luck in your search.

At your next party, fill the inside of that piano up with ice and use it as a cooler.

Because the housing market here is insane.

He can afford to buy a home, no problem, but he refuses to spend 300K for less then 1000 sq ft...

instead we rent a nice place with plenty of room.

1 1/2$-2$ million per season.

Barring any injuries.

Uh... more like 100K or so a year is what he pulls in. He's not playing for an orchestra of symphony.
