I think its a good idea to do once in a while to pre exhaust the big main muscles and then during the compound lifts work more on the secondary and stabilizers. Wouldn't want to do it all the time, same as any exercise.. Switching things up once in a while is necessary..
The answers to all these type of questions is always, "Yes." Keep it changing, not letting your body get too used to any one approach, and you will make consistent gains.
