Is this an infection from a pin?

28yrs old, fourth cycle, 175lbs

My cycle is just test cyp 250, 1cc twice a week about half way through.

I have Ben doing all my injections in the top corner of my glute, my last one there was Thursday. It was a 1.25 inch pin and I moved it around a bit more then I should have but there was a small drop of blood so I am pretty sure I did t hit a vein. But about Sunday I noticed that it was red sore and a bit swollen and felt like a lump below the skin about the size or a half dollar. Now I noticed it is warm to the touch and still aches. Is this an infection? I use a fresh pin every time. Think I should wait a bit longer to see if it goes down or go to the doctor today? And how does the doctor handle an infection if it is one? Or was the pin just too short, I usually use 1.5in. Should I have changed up sites more? Today I used my qadd instead w no problems.

And it isn't an open sore or anything I just meant it felt sore. It is healed just the skin looks red.

Did you wipe the site and vial with an alcohol wipe? Provided everything was clean shouldn't be infected, I've had a bunch of shots swell up like hell and go red and hot then it just goes back to normal in a week.... However if after a week it still looks bad time to get someone to look at it...

It's all good man, fluid just came up between skin and fat or skin and muscle, I used to get that on my ass all the time which is why I stopped pinning there, looks like a coin under the skin, make sure to get the pin far enough in the muscle, DON'T move the pin around lol, and keep it in there for about 45 secs after it done, take it out real slow too, hope that helps Bro

Keep an eye on it for sure. You should switch injection sites if your not. You could just have that area over saturated or just plain irritated. This has happened to me. You probably didnt get deep enough either. I noticed would get lumps when i used 1" pins rather then the 1.5" pins. I would put heat on the area and try and rub the knot out if you can stand it. If it is really infected just go the doc. They will give you antibiotics to fix you up. You should take a marker and draw a circle around the red spot. If it gets bigger then the circle or if you start feeling sick and feverish go to the doc asap.

^^^agree entirely... I've pinned my glute and had it swell up the size of a soft ball and go down in about a week and a half. Try a heating pad and if u can bare it try rolling the area on a foam roller at the gym to try and stretch it out if u can bare the pain. It worked for me. Just keep a close eye on it for now. Come day 7 I it's not any better go to the doc and hell give u a antibiotic. My boy had to just do that...

Thanks for all the help. It was actually Friday morning was the last I pinned there but the red area is a little larger than my palm now. I didn't use a sterilizing wipe so I think if it is infected that's where I went wrong. Should I still wait until this Friday to see a doctor or does it still just sound like irritation. Any over the counter antibiotics I could try? Also I'm going sure not to get anything shorter than 1.5 s now.

I'd wait until Friday bro, unless it progressively gets worse than I'd go. And not for nothin, not wiping the area?!? After 3 cycles already u should know better. That was just plain lazy and stupid cuz...

Really, no alcohol wipe? I know in Aussie you get like 100 of the fuckers free with a steroid pack filled with all your syringes. Wipe the vial and the injection sight! Even wash your hands.

Friday was the pin that started it, tus I used alcohol wipe and pinned in my quad with no problems. But I did the marker outline like the other guy said and it looks like it might be spreading, so I'm hitting the doctor tomorrow. No fever or anything yet but I don't want to wait that long. Anyone see requiem of a dream? That movie about the junkies. I keep thinking of how that one ended and don't want to be that guy. Thanks again guys, going to make sure I sterilize completely from now on.
