Don't want to brag...but what the heck! When 24 first came to CO they had primo package. Pay 2k up front for 3 years(buy2get3rdfree). After that 3 my annual renewal is only 49.99! Since then I've been paying only $50 for a year.
$20 bucks a month is a good price. But the question is, will you get a good workout there? Those 24 hour places have low prices and make up for it in volume, so that its so frickin crowded you can't, or don't want to, work out.

Compared to $250 per year, you don't come out ahead until after the ninth year
So you got a great deal if you are going to be there for life, but the gym figures the odds are slim, so they get people's money up front, and then they don't care if you stick around or not. In fact they'd probably prefer that you quit since they already got your money.
20 a month is a good price but as headholio said those places usually do not have the best equipment.. nothing like a lifter having a bar fall on him at 2am in the morning, usually they just have machines which IS NOT gonna help you take things to the necessary level.
i have even been to some golds gyms that didn't even have squat racks.. why? cause they are in too small a location in a urban area and they just don't have the space..
