is it worth cutting

Just got done a bulking cycle, and my plan was to naturally cut for the summer--but the problem is, i didnt achieve the size i was looking for--not cuz of lack of training, or poor diet, it just didnt happen-maybe unrealistic goals--point is, im not the size i wana be--do u think it would be worth spending the time and effort to cut up, just to be unpleased about my size, or just keep eating heavy, and trying to put on size, but looking bulky as hell at the beach???

dont waste yer time cutting yet, get to the size you want then cut. no point in being unhappy with yer body just to look good for other people. your first, other people come last.

personally, i would consider how lean I was when making a decision like this.....what I mean is, if I was fairly lean say 10-12% bf....I would just keep bulking.

If your bf was 15-20% or more, you could potentially increase that and it would be that much harder to lean out again....and you would probably lose more muscle while trying....

just my 2 cents

It depends on why you workout. If you work out to look good, then it makes the most sense to cut for summer. If your reason is "other," and you're not already a fatty, then go for it.

Me personally? I'm cutting for summer :D I've been bulking for like 8 straight months. Can still see all the abs, but it's getting tough. Can't wait to reveal all the new muscle!

Yeah I had that question myself. I'm contemplating whether or not I should cut in the summer...I haven't gained any substantial mass yet, so I presume it would be rather redundant.
I'm 5'7 and 180 lbs 35 waist and I've only been lifting for a month or so. I haven't gotten a bodyfat% check yet but I assume it's at least 18%, probably going in the 20's even. I've never been involved in any physical activity before a month ago.
No one believes that I'm 180 lbs though, everyone says that I'm 140-160 max. Weird phenomena but it's a good sign.
I think that cutting is only efficient when an adequate amount of muscle is attained. (I've read 1 lb of muscle uses an extra 50-70 cals daily). What do you think? Cut/Bulk this summer? By the way I should note that I pack on muscle quite quickly and easily, the blessings of the endo-mesomorphic build :D.

hey i havent actually cut all year iv ate alot for 2 months then cut back 2 months off and on now since february i have been eating everything ( healthy) i can still see my abs and im getting bigger im not cutting i might cycle every 2 months but this summer im just trying to get strong and bigger! i dont care what people think u wanna make fun lets get under a pile of weights and see who lasts!!

but since im alwasys busy running around building bmx tracks racing, swimming and lifting ill be burning aroun 8,000 cals a day so i cant even eat that much in a day!

so its up to u how many cals are you eating? how many cals you burn? that should be ur first question besides how much fat do i have, then how many carbs do i eat after 7?

if your not happy get to were you wanna be!!
