I remember you used to see italian flags all over the place...Has anything changed

I respectfully disagree. It's not like anyone chose their heritage, they were born into it. It's a random thing. And it's not like anyone can take credit for what their forefathers did, because they were not there and did not contribute.

It's nothing all that bad. My Paulie Walnuts comment was bad though, but he can strike back in his fluent italian LOL.

These are the people that fit the stupid ass stereotypes that I hate.
Soprano's is a decent show..but most real Italians who have 1/2 a clue about their heritage, like myself, cant stand that show. It is the wanna be goombas and wanna be tuff guy guidos that love this show like its the word of the Lord.

Where did you grow up, NY?
Also, I thought the mafia stuff was mostly Sicilian and they don´t really consider themselves Italian. Maybe I´m wrong.
NY Muscle said:
Grew up in the Bronx.
Sicilian? Um maybe the Italians in the Godfather were...but it doesn't matter where you are from in Italy, there are many big organized crime Italian families allover the US, Sicilian/Italian/Neapolitan, etc etc
I frequent a restaurant in Arthur Ave. quite often, been going there since I was a kid, was my 1st time meeting a real mafia boss, the guy was a monster, my mom was like best friends with him while growing up, she once told me a story how 9 black guys jumped him and he bit one guys nose off and mangled the rest of them....his hand when he shook my hand, even till this day, was 2-3 times bigger than mine....like bear paws.
Anyway he isn’t Sicilian. But the sick part is, he was arrested not too long ago with, get this, 74 other family members...I find that fascinating (not in a good or bad way) how many people can be involved from the same "family" at one time.
Im not saying im proud of these facts, but it is reality, but like I said, too many wanna be's think they are mafioso and claim their "uncle" is in the mafia...meanwhile these kids are 1/2 Irish.

Sicily was the Bed of the Organized Families in Italy and the US.
It pretty much spread from there as I understand the history.

Many people consider Sicilians NI***RS, but hey I'm 1/4 Sicilian and the rest from Northern Italy.
If you are Italian, you are Italian thats it...I dont know why they would get offended IMHO.

Wait a second. I´ve been around Italy twice and I know that if you are Italian that doesn´t necessarily mean you are "Italian thats it." Well, not to them.

Yeah I have a couple of Italian friends that were over here for fighter pilot school and they were telling me how Northern Italians esp. those from Milan do not like Italians that live below Florence. I also have a friend from Naples and he told me that some Italians view him as dirty etc. just because of where he lives.

I know...the old country still has OLD VALUES...they refuse to get away from that way of thinking. they dont know any better...that is why when Italians come to the US they see things much differenty and then Italians and/or Italian Americans in the US, realize everything isnt black and white.

The Varnsen said:Sí, claro, hablo y escribo castellano casí tan bien como el portugués, tio!!!
The Varnsen said:Aurelius: Bueno, estoy cierto que támpoco entiendes el catalán, verdad?
