Hit legs once a week, chest one, back once, arms once. (aka a week between the same body part).
I havent deteriorated to nothingness. In fact I'm still making good gains.

You didn't deteriorate to nothingness because you are lifting each week. Taking a week off means that you take a week MORE off than you would normally do. . Taking a week off means you would skip an entire week of lifting, which means you wouldn't lift a body part for 2 weeks.
