Is it a waste to do cardio in the evening?

Been tough getting up in the morning since I sleep like shit
lately. I really hate doing it in the evening, but I'm thinking
nightime cardio is better then no cardio.

No, it's not a waste it's just less effective. Not THAT much less though.
 
I have to do cardio at night because I leave for work before my gym opens. Like already stated, its not that big of a difference.
 
It's better than no cardio at all. I do think that in the a.m. before breakfast is more effective though.

However, Miss Fitness Universe Katie Uter told me that when preparing for competition, they do cardio before breakfast AND after their last meal. I think the logic behind it is this, before breakfast, you are obviously burning stored fat since you have been fasting all night and you have nothing else to burn. After last meal because this will rev-up your metabolism during your night time sleep.

You taking anything to help you sleep gUiLe? Man I know it's tough and it sucks, but morning cardio makes a difference.

No, not taking anything. It's like I get up at least 5 times a night
to take a piss. I try to limit water intake after 7pm. I think it's
the diet. Any suggestions??

BTW- Going into the 3rd week and doing well. I actually gained
a lb! I could see changes for sure. There is a trainer at my gym who is in awesome shape and he isn't too generous with the
compliments. Last night, he came over to me like three times to
tell me how much of a change he could see! Made my night;)

I got the same problem, I fucking hate that, Ive been sleeping in the basement because its so cold down there and it helps with the sweating, but its a hike to the bathroom.
 
Same prob. I cut my water intake by 430pm. I need the sleep more than that extra two hours of drinking time, just make sure to take more water during your drinking hours.
 
yeah, believe it or not, i gained about 5 pounds on the diet. i could tell it was all muscle though. my partner gained 7 pounds and dropped about 8 - 10% b.f.

the mirror is the best judge. if you are getting compliments, you know you are doing it right. compliments are some great motivators.
 
Why do so many of you say doing cardio on an empty stomache is so much better? You just wake up from a fast and your muscles are depleted and need protein. So how is going and doing cardio going to help you burn more fat? If anything it's going to burn fat and muscle. There have been many articles on this topic and www.ast-ss.com has a great one there.
