is 91 resting heart rate ok?

According to the american medical association normal adult heart rate is between 60 and 90. It is dependant on the individual. If you heart rate was like 70bpm before the cycle then you might worry if it gets any higher.

elite athletes such ass cross country skiers or marathon runners can have a resting heart rate of around 20 no joke..

I am sitting at my desk at work after taking my third ECA stack of the day with a 63 bpm heart rate. I would say that is a little fast for just sitting around. Are you overweight? Do you ever do cardio? Just some things to think about.

normal heart rate is between 60 - 100 bpm...if your resting rate is above 80 I would get my thyroid checked...go to your local MD and ask him to draw a TSH level (thyroid stimulating hormone )...I'm out this bitch:fro:

oh yea...and the heart rate of 20 is a lot of crap...no one can sustain a BP high enough to perfuse vital organs with that rate....marathon runners have a rate of about 50...Late;)

As long as it's not over 100 and not for more than a month
Also check what you blood pressure was b4 at previous checkups

I was donating blood and mine was 98. I just started clen/clomid post cycle so no telling what it is now.

thank you,
i dont know what my rate was before cycle but i dont smoke and decreased cardio to once a week for 30 min. and only noticed it,
when i added winny to the last half of the cycle, which i've stopped.
i will resume more cardio and watch the rate

BP is normal

I just got off work and checked mine cause I just started my first cycle and have just finished my first weeks injects of 500mg sust and 400mg deca and noticed i could feel my heart Pounding in bed last night. My BP is 144/80 and my pulse is 88 I checked it twice with digital blood pressure monitor.

You say you noticed it when you began winny? There was some evidence posted a while back suggesting that winny almost totally wipes out your HDL (good) cholesterol. That may be the cause of your high heart rate, due to increased resistence in the blood stream.

Your heart rate is a little high Bro. High enough I would have it checked by an MD. Most males in decent shape are gonna be around 60 - 70 bpm .... females a bit higher. As far as the low end of the sepectrum, it is called bradycardia. In athletes, bradycardia can be normal. For most People, anything under 40 is cause for real concern. For endurance athletes it is another story. My resting HR is 38. They are elite cyclists who have posted low 30's and I think Miguel Indurain was in the very high 20's. Lance A. is also near that. But for most people, that would spell shock and death.

Heart rate in the 20's...lol

Lance Armstrong was on Jay Leno soon after he won his most recent Tour de France and Leno asked what his resting heart rate was and Lance said about 33, not many more peeps in better cardiovascular shape than him.

I'd like to see anyone have a resting rate below 30.

Peace
DrZ

mine was 102 a few weeks ago whil on an eca, about an hour after lifting and being stressed.
My BP was low though!

Mine is around 90....I am in great shape....run 2-3 miles a day....play B-ball all weekend.....its just me....I was a bit concerned when I first took my heart rate....went to the doc and he said all is OK......I just have a high beat!

its true Miguel Indurain had a HR off 27 i clearly remember that

Hey Dr. Zaius....

Your LOL about Indurain's HR being 28-29 .... was that amazement or are you scoffing at the idea?

I was just wondering if you think I am silly for sharing such folly or are you simply suprised?

First off, we dont really know anything about this guy such as age, weight, meds, medical history, etc. But for the average Joe Bodybuilder who is on this board, 90 bpm is high. This rate prolonged will cause health risks. You should check it while at rest ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION and with an empty bladder. The average Joe without any gear should be around 60-80 while at rest. I consider myself a slightly above average Joe and my rate is high 50's at rest. A full bladder will cause an increase in the renin/angiotensin levels (controlled by the kidney) and will increase heart rate and blood pressure.

Second, Lance A and Miguel I are not normal people. They are professional athletes and noone should expect to come close to them in terms of cardiovascualr health and heart rate. They have such little peripheral vascular resistance that their organ perfusion is just fine with a heart rate in the 20-30's. They have incredibly efficient cardiovascualr systems.

You are right Dr. T

The fact that there is someone who had a resting HR at 28 doesn't mean that it is average or wanted or needed by most of us. It was normal for Miguel at the time he was training as an elite.

My post was more a reference for how far a range we might find when considering one's healthy heart rate at rest.
At the high end or low end. Given AS/gear has a way of raising blood pressure and possibly increasing heart disease, someone with a resting HR of 90 something should be concerned in my opinion. It may mean nothing and it may mean a lot. Check it out Bro so that you know.

For Dr. Z and the giggling IronBarbarian. You guys ought to check your ego's and attitudes.

Then check these sites for starters. I'll get more if you need them.

and

References to Indurain's heart rate and his personal cardiologist are within those sites.

Man, you think 91 is bad. When Tiratricol was out I was taking 3 capsules a day. Mine went from a usual 60 to 120 in about a week. Needless to say, I was off quick. 91 really isn't that bad considering AS somewhat excites your CNS.

You're gonna use up all your beats, and die. Gattaca.

Chill out. I wasnt even making fun of your post. I was just joking with the LOL thing. Its incredible, you look as if you take all this matter about the 20's heart beat all seriously and get offended when someone tries to dig a hole in your argument. I believe what you said, does that make you happy? You sound like if someone does not agree with you, you turn away and start shaking and crying. I seriously care about my health and the HR thing, but I dont give a SHIT what a skinny biker has for a HR. I am a weight lifter.

Take your posts to a biking message board if your pissed at my smart ass remarks, this is a bodybuilding forum, and we are supposed to determine what a weight lifter person has for HR not what a pro cyclist has(which I must emphasize again, I DONT GIVE SHIT). got it stud? later

I have a buddy who is about 5'10" at 340 lbs. We checked our blood pressure and heart rate at the store the other day. His was about 120/90 at 80 bpm, while mine was about 160/110 at 90 bpm!! Of course, I'm on a cycle right now and had just finished working out and taken thembuterol. Between cycles I checked my resting heart rate and it was about 48.

Pretty soon my heart will probably explode and I'll be dead before I hit the floor!

You guys are pretty knowledgable about pro cyclists like Lance and Indurain-I'm impressed! I've had a resting heart rate as low as 35, but I'm not a BB. Thats typically a sign of a very strong heart which can pump a lot of blood per stroke.

ironbarbarian ....

If you check my post count you will see it isn't real high. I never post anything that is purposefully inflammatory. I usually post when I am in the know and when I think I can help someone. I generally can produce a source of facts and my posts are most often medically related as that is my area of expertise. I have asked for help on this board and received a lot of it from irongame, stew, HUCK and others. Helping out other Bros when I can ... that's usually why I am here, and that all I am about when I am answering questions.

I am not a skinny cyclist either, but I am aware enough in these matters to know that a high or low resting heart rate can be a dangerous thing for some who is 330lbs or someone who is 130lbs. Try not to tune out of the discussion on health if the fellow being discussed isn't a Big Boy. Skinny people and monsters can both die of high blood pressure. You may have thought I overreacted to you. Probably true. Now re-read your reaction to me.

Sorry for the Flame I tossed your way and Dr. Z as well. I was just putting in some time for the Boyz and I didn't like the smirks I got. I'll check my ego before I come back in.

Your resting heart rate is to high you need to get it down, maybe you have to much blood volume, what is your BP? And I would need to see a person who is not in a coma with a pulse of 20 before I would believe it.

I did not call you slim, that would be stupid from my part since I dont know you. It is also not my style to flame someone as I also contribute to this board as well, and I am sure you do too since I have read other posts from you.

I reread my previous post and sounds a bit flaming so I'll apologize. All is well bro, realize that when you stick hundreds of juice heads in one message board you may get some smartass remarks like mine, not necessarily geared to hurt someone's feelings. Sorry if I did. Take care.

i' ve been off the winstrol for 3 days now, staying on the 500 sust and 400 deca /wk, im 35 yrs old traing 15 years.

There is plenty of evidence that shows that hardcore exercise with or without steroids enlarges the heart. This enlargement, exercise induced has not been proven to be harmful, there is some speculation that it may lead to CHF. For more info on this condition do a search for Atheletes heart.:( :)

Also gomo I didn't say that you were wrong in what you read, just that a heart rate of 28 is nearly inhuman, peace:D
