He is posting by the FDA recommended guidelines. His response is pretty much automated from what the FDA thinks we should consume. Personally, his answer is stupid (I mean FDA's answer) and there is enough research and published studies (see PubMED) to make the FDA go haywire...
 
The answer is generalized and over-simplified (e.g., assumes that all fats have the same impact, etc.,). I'm with sawastea - it's your typical run-of-the-mill (i.e., brainwashed) reasoning.

this is the kinda shit im learning in my "Human Nutrition" class as well. which sucks, but oh well.

i think my teacher will shit a brick when she reads in a 3 day eating log assignment that I consume 279 g protein daily (i need more!)
