instead of declines?

just learned that most people say that declines are worthless? damn that was 1/4 of my chest workout. what do you guys do to work your lower pecs?

Declines are not worthless, just not as good as flat or inclines, IMO. Fuck what others say. If it works for you, keep doing them.

I'd have to say my lower chest is pretty fully developed and I've never done decline, my whole routine consists of heavy flat, then a few incline exercises

I like doing bent forward cross over cables, with hanldes at the bottom of the machine, the first time i did it was about a year ago, and i felt a burn in my lower pecs like nothing else i've ever done....

I'm not a big fan of declines... just something I never really got into.... But like everybody else is saying.. if it is something that is working for you, why bother messing with it?

They are ok, but most do them on too steep an angle and it just ends up becoming a shoulder exercise. Work on a decline of around 30 degrees.

does anyone else find themselves stronger on decline than flat?? i do, but i think a lot has to do w/the reduced ROM on decline vs. flat...

Dips are wicked for your lower pecs.
but i did wayyy too many of them, and there just not as fun as they used to be. So i moved to decline for something new. Even though dips probably are better for me. I needed to switch it up.

I've never benefited from decline, so i think it's worthless.

Try cable crossovers from below or some nice heavy weighted dips.

Whenever I do BB declines I don't get much out of it. I'm not sure where the BB should touch my chest. I get better results w/ DBs. Unfortunately, I have trouble getting in position when I start using heavier DBs, so I have to go for my reps.

BTW, is there a good way to get in position for decline press w/ heavier DBs by yourself?

Myself, i've always found cable cross overs to be a waste of time, i dont see how they can possibly stimulate the muscle enough to force growth. I do incline flyes instead with a working weight usually around the 85-90lb dumbells for 8-10 reps, i dont see how cables could ever duplicate that kind of stress on the muscle

weighted dips are great. you could try doing some heavy negatives as well on inclines and flat if you got a good spotter. Negatives are great for hypertrophy
