increasing my vertical jump!!!!!!!!!

does standing on your tippy toes on the stairs and goin up and down many times work on your vertical jump??? id o it a lot and it doesnt do much buit im wondering if it takes a while and how effective it is!!?!?!
 
Try plyometrics instead.

Squats and what your doing but you really need to use a good amount of weight. Also try weighted jumping
 
Genetiking and Enock are both right on here. Another technique you could try is explosion squats. Also I belive I posted somewhere else , that short, explosive sprints train the same muscle fibers used to jump. so those are helpful as well.
 
here is a good workout, and if strenghtmonster is right, do us a favor and don't ask again.

1/ do 10 one minute set of jumping rope with 45 sec of rest in between\

2/ do 4 sets of box jumps, as many rep as you feel comfortable with

3/ place a weight bench in the middle of some empty space, and work at leaping form side to side over it.

this will help your vertical leap greatly, if done around twice a week
