importance of chewing food thoroughly?

not me, but I'm one to scarf my food in minutes........matter of fact, I'm not sure I taste it until a half hour later.........lol...........can't spend 1/2 hour eating when I got to get in 6-7 meals 2-3 hours a part.......

I don't know, I wouldn't think it would matter that much....

I'm with JKurz in that I shove my food in my mouth until it's gone....it takes me 3 times as long to prepare as it does to eat....

It can be bad though......one time I ate a chicken breast in less than a minute (i was late for class) got up and got my shit together, then I broke out in a sweat, got really hot and had to sit down.....a few seconds later I threw up the chicken breast in a garbage can - what a waste!

I take my time eating, chewing my food consistently and slowly. I find it is better than inhaling my meals.

Right, but that's not telling us of any importance to chewing food. I think only problems you'd have would be A) indigestion or B) choking.

i was told it does no good unless it's completely chewed.

wrong, chewing is the first part of the digestion process, it does matter if you chew for a 10 seconds compared to 30 seconds, the more you chew the less you stomach has to do, to be honest, chewing your food thouroughly and drinking lots of water daily are 2 of the most recommended things to do by top fitness gurus!

Buddy I was just about to put this on topic. I have a friend that has a metabolism like a colt. I changed my eating habits to match him. The biggest part of that was taking the time to chew my food. Man, its like it spins your metabolism into a 180. It feels like I have more energy and the food that I eat isn't being stored like it was before. Plus you will find yourself getting fuller faster.
