I'm utterly shocked - regarding new Mod choices

mvmaxx

High End Bro
Platinum
From the few Mod threads I've seen I absolutely cannot believe this guy has not been mentioned, at least on the threads I've seen.

He has helped build this site more so than almost any member here.

Ironmaster

Ironmaster and genarr3 deserve to be mods here more than almost anyone. While there are many good bros here that would make a good mod, many of them have gone on to mod at other sites. These two have stayed with Elite for the past three years at least, constantly contributing.

There post counts reflect on the AS forum alone, not from the chat forum.

And yes Fonz, I'm all with ya on that the decision will be based on George and possibly the existing mods. I just felt I needed to point out the obvious in this case.

I couldnt agree more, but at the same time I've never once seen members feedback being taken into consideration when choosing mods, which doesnt make any sense to me...

Good points, Dont get me wrong here I think Iron Master may be one of the most knowlegable bros around I dont see him posting asmuch as he was a while back. Most of the time I see him responding to direct questions. Just my opinion.

One of the duties as a mod is that you have to show up, a lot.
Ironmaster is a friend of mine, I really like him, and you're right he'd be a great mod, but he simply doesn't have the hours to put into it.
Which is why I turned it down twice.

I always thought he would be a good mentor.

Don't worry, this board is all about the money!

I am sure that George has another slimey move up his sleeve!

Hey Ulter, you haven't been sued yet?

Here we go again :p Mr. Negative continuing from last night.

"Ironmaster"...no f'in doubt!!!!!! Best choice mentioned so far!!!!

I'm pretty sure by reading this thread that Genarr is already IN, but he's DEF choice #2!!!!!! GREAT bro!

Gotta throw out some props to some other bad-ass VETS here too that have contributed for YEARS and are well-liked by everyone....

I also think mods should be even-keeled people. At least two of the people i've seen very frequently mentioned are easily agitated.

I promise i will be nice if i can be a mod :D i am always on as well which is a bonus and i know my fair share. I would enjoy locking and deleting threads as well, i think thats the best part. Ironmaster is a good choice but doesnt post enough. Genarr would be an excellent choice

My experience at most boards is that mods choose their friends to be mods. I wouldn't expect any different here. I can think of one board that made somebody a mod partly based on her great tits.
(they definitely were great)

I really appreciate the thought, mvmaxx. It's especially significant to me coming from those whom I hold in high regard like maxx, huck, drveejay, fonz, ulter and supergirl.

I have been saddened by the negative turn that this forum has taken of late, and I would make time to help in any capacity just to see the anabolic board return to the stature it once had.

This was a place where the brightest and most dedicated members of the enhanced bodybuilding community shared information and ideas. We treated one another like family. It can be like that again.

Now thats dedication Bros!!:D

I never mentioned ironmaster in any of these threads because of his infrequent posts, but if he wanted to commit the time he definitely looks like a good candidate. Yet another bro with lots of real experience under his belt to back up his knowledge.

It's like that old saying, deepzenpill......"still waters run deep".

Seriously, you are right, I don't jump on every thread even though I read the board every day. I like it when newer members get the opportunity to answer questions. It gives them the chance to become known, to be a part of the community, to pass on the knowledge they possess. This is how the brotherhood has always worked. The outside world is hostile to our way of life. It's important to have a place to go where we can find acceptance and understanding. I do post in those threads that I feel have not been adequately answered, or in which I have some unique information to offer.

My PM inbox and email are always maxed out because many good brothers prefer to ask questions in a more private way.
By the way, you have certainly become a real asset to the forum.

IM, I have some questions for you if I ever roll into som extra (translation = gh) money.

i feel exactly the same way.. Elite was my start a few years ago, but i have hence moved onto other boards but still come here to read almost everyday!! You and i tend to post on the gh threads as they are our forte, but i try to jump on here and there too..

I like the fact that you know when to jump in and when to let the newbies make their mark.. that is a great practice of understanding and patience.. another reason you make an excellent father and MAN!! Not to mention you have years upon years of real world experience as well as book smarts!

"A wise man speaks when he has something to say. An idiot speaks all the time"

Hey dad.. if ya want to come over to CuttingedgeMuscle.com we would welcome you with open arms!!! you would also make a fantabulous addition there!!!

xoxoxoxo

I realize the point being made about the # of posts and I think ironmaster already addressed that better than I could. But what you guys need to realize is that a lot of these guys being recommended for mods, even though YES many of them being mentioned are qualified, obtain half their post count from the chat forum.

ironmaster and genarr3's posts are all strictly AS forum.

A Mod's disposition is actually more important than their post volume and, to some degree, even their AS knowldege.

It's important that any Mod NOT be a drama-magnet, and that they tend to calm people down and SOLVE problems, not be the cause of drama and controversy.

THAT is more important then their AS knowledge IMHO.

There are a bunch of guys who have AS knowledge. But to MOD the board, you need some knowledge, but more importantly, a level head and good sense of diplomacy.

In my opinion, there are a few names that are being nominated that do NOT meet that crtiteria. They all-too-often end up being involved in arguments and bitch-fests.

Again we are not nominating "the most educated and knowledgeable AS users and training experts" we are nominating people to MODERATE the boards and to help keep ORDER and keep things CIVIL.

If you can find BOTH in a person, great. However if they are an "expert" but cause too many arguments, too much drama, too much controversy, then they should NOT be a Mod.

Thanks bro, and I completely understand where you're coming from. Participation on the "normal" threads definitely comes in waves. I've watched plenty of guys be extremely active and then get tired of saying the same things over and over again. I've gotten tired of reading the same things over and over again myself on the anabolic forum so I haven't been visiting it as frequently as before.

I guess that's why half my posts are now from the chat board :D

There are quite a few that have slipped through the "voting" process. IronMaster knows my respect for his knowledge, hell I've PM'd and sent many people to him with regards to HGH use.

Let's not forget 40butPumpin, and there are many others. SofaGeorge, I could go on and on.

I greatly appreciate all the support I've gotten from you guys, but as has already been posted, the last wave of new MODs had at least a few that weren't even members here. They were very knowledgeable, but as you might notice aren't here anymore.

I'll also add you might see some MODs listed that never seem to post. Some I imagine have been asked to resign, but the ones that remain are truly Elite MODs. So don't get down on Admin for keeping them.

Just as one example. Andy13. Do a search on his posts. You'll see REAL facts, not what someone has read last week, or gym myth nonsense. Some were flat out brilliant. I highly suggest some of the newer members go back and read them. You will learn more doing that then just browsing the most recent posts of the day.

Once again thanks to everyone that believes I'd be a capable MOD. I really don't have the words to express my appreciation.

Talking about Nelson, mebbe? :lmao:

IM is definatly my number 1 choice. even though he's not a post whore like other people nominated, his posts are ALWAYS extremely well informed. QUALITY over quantity

LOL, I think I called that one correctly...

Why add more Mods when we already have what, 3 or 4 active ones...You don't need more than that to Moderate a board with about 60,000 members...
LMAO....Our time will come...God knows we have been here long enough and helped enough people...

Exactly!!
