I'm sad!!!!!

They won't ever completely go away. You can get them from either gaining weight or losing weight.....

There are products to make them less noticeable. I have 100s - after a while neither you nor anyone else will notice.

I use cocoa butter (the stuff in a tub that is the consistency of butter, not lotion) as my moisturizer every morning. It's supposed to help prevent new stretch marks. Plus, it makes your skin realllly soft and smooth :)

Cocoa Butter is GREAT, I took that ideer from Miss DG (AVEENO ROX)

...however, since I avoid the sun and use spray tanning... anything with mineral oil is a no no... in case anyone else fantasy/spray tans :)

So now when we get new peeps on here we have to ask them to quantify the following:

- height
- weight
- bodyfat
- daily meal plan
- training schedule
- cardio schedule
- number & length of stretch marks

lol!

I love Aveeno lotion ... like bunny said. :) it is the best. Nothing else in the WORLD eliminates my dry skin like Aveeno.

Stretch marks are 99.9% genetics. There are some people that just don't get them - no matter what. ANd there are some people who get them very easily. They just mean that your skin stretched or shrunk quickly. As we age, our skin loses elasticity (plus, sun exposure and dehydration reduces elasticity). This will cause stretch marks to happen faster and more often.

Once you get them, you are stuck with them. They will not go away 100%. Lotions and cremes can help reduce their noticability, but nothing will eliminate them entirely. A tan helps them "hide" - use self-tanner or spray tan.

Yes, they suck. But yes, they are a part of life.

Oh, and Bunny, why do you avoid mineral oil? What does it have to do w/ stretch marks? Are you talking about a self-tanner? Just wondering....
