I'm not sore today. Why ?

Hi all.

I thought soreness was an indication of a good workout. But why is this :

I work my biceps every Wednesday and last wednesday I did 3 sets of 12 reps. dumbell curls, hammers, & concentration curls using 10 lb. weights. My bi's were sore for like 5 days.

But, this wednesday I did 4 sets with 15 lbs. 12, 10, 8, 6 reps. 24-48 hours later I was barely sore even though I increased my weight ?

Why is this ?

Thanks :p

Soreness is NEVER an indication of a good workout. SOmetimes you get sore, sometimes you don't. USUALLY you get sore after a hard workout, when you increase weights, or try something new. But not always.

Maybe even though you increased the weight, the intensity wasn't as much? Were you sore last week (before the weight increase)?

Chances are, your body has adapted to the EXERCISE not the weight. Try new exercises. But don't feel like you HAVE to get sore. You can still get a good workout when you don't get sore. Focus on the actual workout, not the muscle soreness the next day.
